Probe balanced rotating assambly. 11.0 to 1 with 75 cc heads and a .040 gasket. Reverse some pistons 4.380 bore. Honed with torque plates. Tool steel wrist pins. Total seal rings file fitted to each bore. 7.100 I beam rods Chevy size. 4.5 in stroke crank. Romac balancerBearings fitted to each rod and main. Line bored with billet main caps. Block clearanced for stroker. Parallel decked. $5500.00 usd plus shipping. Thanks. Kim

I don’t think so. The machine shop gave it a clean bill of health. I talked to them b4 I bought it. I’ll take it to my machinest and get it checked. Then we will know 4 sure. Kim

After the effort in machining so carefully, a cracked block would be a huge buzzkill/ Good luck with this.
 
That's not a crack.

That is a parting line from the sand casting cores meet. All of the 440 blocks that you see will have that line at that spot. Some will look better, some worse.

If I were building it, and especially since I would have had the die grinder in my hand doing the clearances anyway, I probably would have cleaned them up a little, but some builders don't see the need to.

If there was a crack that long in the spot it's in, the block would have self destructed a long time ago.
 
Thanks Big_John. The machine shop checked it for cracks. Then sonic checked the bores. He said he would of never went any farther if it hadn’t passed those 2 checks. It is bored to 3.80 which is a .060 over bore. Kim
 
If the block was sonic checked posting those numbers could help someone make a decision to buy
 
It's not related to the sale or a criticism thereof, but FWIW:
Grinding down these 2 bosses prevents this block from installing in a 65 C-body or a late-60s A-body, or using the late 70s PS pump mounting. Would've been better to leave them.

Maybe it's just hte picture/lighting, but this machined dish looks like it has some edges that might lead to detonation hotspots.

Every number was ground off the block b4 I got it. This is the story I got about the block. It is out of a 69 M code A body car that was totalled and being scrapped many years ago. B4 it got scrapped someone stole the vin and fender tag. He didn’t want it to get into a car that may be re created and passed off as original. I don’t know how true that is or have any way to prove it or disprove it. The old guy was gonna ceramic coat the piston tops b4 he passed away. Kim
 
I've never seen a block get those 2 bosses ground like that, and leaving the threads visible was kinda odd if it was for appearances.
That story does make sense, then.
