Anyone have a source for C body door felts or some universal ones that can be modified to work? I am in need of door weatherstipping to but plan on using universal stuff for that. This isn't a restore, it's more of a good'enuf situation. Specifically, looking for door felts for a 64 2dr Newport.

I don't have an answer for you, but it would help if you stated the year of your Newport.

Sometimes referred to as "cat whiskers", try Steele or Restoration Specialties. Maybe also could be cut to fit from some other application? I 'd try those sites first.

I always thought door felt came in 7-8 foot lengths! When I had my '60 Imperial restored 34 years ago I got about 16-20 feet of that stuff and you have to cut and fit with I believe adhesive on the backing.

That would make things easier, I'll have to see if I can get universal ones. I've never had to replace weatherstripping or felts on a vehicle so this is all new to me. Thanks

If you can get pre fitted get them....But buying them by the running foot isn't that hard to cut to fit either.

The ones I got for my cars from them had OEM type correct mounting clips.
Robert Saigh, how well did the adhesive backed felts adhere and did they last?

Well, if I remember correctly they were put on in 1986....and I still have the car. The guys that painted the car put them on and there may have been a tiny screw placed in a hidden areas. Anyway, the car hasn't seen a lot of action and they're still fastened on very well! A couple of the guys here say get the ones that are fitted so if you can them you probably should! The guys that put mine on were real good craftsmen they could make anything look good! But that's my experience! Good Luck.

QQE has already confirmed above that they can supply a correct set.
Yes sir! My comment wasnt edited or proofread by yours truly:rolleyes: the "check with QQE" shouldn't have been part of my comment. I was asking about the self adhesive ones and how they stood the test of time. Not about the already established availability. I'll be more careful....

call murray parks he may have them or knows where to get them
