J and J auto parts Starke FL

It's there rarity that lets them linger, otherwise they probably would have been scrapped by now.

the Hurst at Jerrys place was really in bad shape.
But in general the amount/survival rate on the Hursts is fascinating and very high.
But them have been very expensive when new and they were already back then kinda special. This explains why many owners took good care of them. Exspecially if you compare the existing numbers to the SFGTs.

.

As far as the number of existing cars are concerned my last numbers are a bit older from around 6 years ago, where the registry of the 300 Club intl. still had 223 hardtops accounted for plus the one Hurst convert which was rather late in production by serial number plus 9 junked cars. 22 cars registered with console shift, one car (the first one) with sunroof, two with manual windows. The majority, judging by owners' names seems to have been in the US by that time.

same numbers I am familiar with. And that was 6 years ago. I t was close to 50% of the production back then already. And many people don't register their car. Lots of cars popped up over the years.

We have a lot in europe, too. There are currently alone 10 liscensed in sweden plus cars in norway&finland. I know three in NL, one in Belgium, two in france, two in UK, three in germany, one in CH, Luxemburg and austria.

Kinda feels like if maybe 400 cars survived

Yeah, when you look at all we found, then consider the ones that were in a wrecking yard, parted since or beyond repair the number may be less.

As soon as Mark started to dig they disappeared. Used to be we would find two- three a year

My gut tells me there's a few more out there. Someone just up the hill from me has a 71 SFGT with factory sun roof in decent survivor condition. I've seen the car at a few shows but have never caught up with the owner. My point is that there's likely more cars out there like that that the owners only value as family heirlooms but have no clue what they really have. If I ever decide to make a change I'll followup.

I know there are more and your thoughts echo my words that I have been preaching to Mark. Probably the ones that are left are nicer original cars, the ones that were ordered, not lot cars

I'm one of those Blumo guys ye speak of, Commando. :D

I've known Jerry for 30+ years now, and see him at least 2 times a week at the local Sonny's BBQ....he's a good guy. I used to go with him on his parts car hunts when I was younger....he's been building that yard inventory for years.

He's a bit hard to get sometimes, because he does the car show/swap meet circuits...it's his bread-and-butter, and although he's a bit pricey on some of his stuff, he's relatively cheap compared to other yards around here.

I spent the afternoon at this place today. If you are in FL, this guy has tons of old Mopars. He's really fair on stuff that's hard to find too.
Is there a phone number for this Mopar Junkyard in Starke Fl.
I live about 1: 20 minutes from there.
I can not find outside door trim for a 66 Sport Fury.
I only need 2 parts to complete this 8 year reto.
