About 17 years ago in 2003, I bought a 1957 Coronet 4dr sedan from a man in Akron, Ohio. I have had it these many years, waiting to have the time to work on it. Meanwhile, the normal issues developed and things just sat , waiting, while I accumulated other Mopars....

This year I decided to sell the car, so I worked on the rust, changed plugs and points, fixed a few little things, and ran new gas through the tank. Car started and runs like a champ. I then tackled the issues, and aside from some floor and trunk rust, fixed some small body rust. Backyard painting and it looks pretty good. Few little things got lost over the years and a racoon got into the interior one winter, but overall, fairly nice. Time to sell the car....

Listed it on local Akron Ohio CraigsList today and got a call about 15 minutes later from a guy who asked where in Akron I got the car. We talked, and he is the person who sold it to me in 2003, and now wants to come see it again (sounds interested). Haven't heard from him on 17 years and wouldn't recognize him from Adam. What are the odds????

So, If you are like me and long for a Mopar that slipped through your hands many years ago, all I can say is "Don't give up hope". As in Pet Semetary: "Sometimes They Do Come Back".

Great story to read first thing in the morning!

I've heard so many "I should have never gotten rid of that _________" comments over the years. This story proves that once that comment happens, thoughts and memories keep existing, that sometimes you CAN get back what you once loved (vehicle-wise) and re-kindle the feelings that put the vehicle/prior owner together for even more great memories in the future.

You were a good care-taker/place-holder in the vehicle's life so that it can better-live again.

Thanks,

man id like to buy that... killing me
Give me a call, Mike. Car is still for sale, but I will be down in Wooster at the Mopar parts event at the Wayne County Fairgrounds Friday and Saturday. 3309901361
Car is good runner, just needs TLC - priced appropriately...

Show was OK. Pretty cold on Sunday. Fairgrounds are in a valley and it held fog and clouds that would not burn off. Lots of lookers, but very few buyers for any of the sellers present.
