Needed it TO GET BACK INTO MICHIGAN when I crossed the Ambassador or Blue Water Bridges going or coming to-from Ontario. Az of last Thursday October 1st they now call it A REAL I.D. License and the requirements for obtaining one are the same and for you folks that fly or drive to visit our brothers to the north, They won't even let you on the plane without a REAL License I.D. az of October 1st and if you're driving say like to Moparfest in New Hamburg, On. in Mid August, If you don't have that endorsement on you Drivers License you have probably just applied for Canadian Citizenship 'cuz the Custom Nazis on the USA side are about to educate you in wayz you've never dreamed of. My statement of facts for the day Guyz and way cheaper then a Passport. I played that game for 3 years between 2000 and 2003 Daily because I crossed that border every day during the week going and coming at least twice and sometimes Four time and I learned that you say yes sir and no sir to those custom Nazis on both sidez every trip, Jer

Real ID required has been pushed back to October 2021.

Tougher ID Requirements For Domestic Flights Postponed To 2021

A passport works also I believe.
It actually requires less paperwork and hassles to get a passport than a Real ID, at least in Minnesota. And Real ID, while a bit cheaper, only lasts four years instead of the ten for a passport. And no, a passport is not enough to get you a Real ID, I tried that......... :BangHead:

I refuse to pay another $30 plus all the other paperwork. Even the woman at the DMV said they are preying on people that don't pay attention to the commercials. She told me, that she wasn't going to get one either.

I have a passport so screw them.

The first part is absolutely true as that's what I had to do in NV. I had to get the Passport so I could get a "Real ID D.L." also in NV.
That was all borked up as I tried to use the same Birth Certificate that I use to join the Military but Sec. of States office wouldn't accept it, but the Post Office would for a Passport. Go figure?

i got one only because they threatened that no one would be allowed in government buildings without one :realcrazy:

I got one so I can get into Canada. Cheaper than a passport, and I'm not planning many trips across the border.

As I said IN MINNESOTA. Read to learn.

I made my upcoming appointment at the SOC 4 months ago....:BangHead:
**** I don’t even remember why I’m going.

We all know what you believe is correct, but more and more becoming a real PITA to jump thru the hoops and over the walls placed in front of us to get one and more and more expensive. Your USPS at ... WORK??? Can we really prove that the USPS has not graduated from Pony's to Camels some where along the line? A while back I ordered car parts from Coos Bay, Or. and had them at my front door in 48 hours. 3 weeks ago I ordered a book I've been wanting from Chicago and just got it 4 days ago. Double the distance from Coos Bay, 8 times the longer in dayz from Chicago and I don't wanna discuss Air Planes vs Camels. When's the last time anybody has seen ah 53" USPS wagon on the interstate system? We had better mail service when we were licking .05 stampz. Typical government bureaucratic crap, Jer

I SAW THAT, that's why I mentioned NV.! Be thankful I didn't bring up California!
So, out of curiosity, if you know you are comparing apples to oranges, MN to NV, why did you disagree with my original statement?

Your last sentence that says, and I quote. "And no, a passport is not enough to get you a Real ID, I tried that." I tried that too, and I had to get a passport to get a real ID/D.L in NV. That's what I said.
NV. also wouldn't accept my valid Military ID as it's not a Govt. document, even though it's clearly stated on the I.D that it's property of the U.S. Govt.! They also wouldn't accept a expired Passport as well. Answer me why the real I'D laws are so goofy written that no one can understand what's acceptable and what isn't! And that varies greatly from state to state.

And in MN a passport is not a valid proof which is why I wondered what experience you had that differed. Now I know that NV accepts them for a proof which is an interesting tidbit but does me no good. Thanks for the help, I think.

[QUOTE="BIGBARNEYCARS, Some think the Civil War iz still going on here, SHESH[/QUOTE]

Here in Bama it's the war of northern aggression. There's some still pissed about it. :BangHead:

The post office even accepted the same birth certificate for a Passport that DMV wouldn't, like I said. The laws are goofy. Question them as to why a passport isn't good enough when it's US Govt. issued document and why they won't accept it, and see what they say. I'd love to hear the answer, I'm sure you would too? Good Luck!

I can't remember the last time I was even in a federal building... so screw them...:rofl:
Me?
Just last week. Eastern Michigan U.S. District Court.
Called for Jury Duty then promptly dismissed. Another perk of getting old!
