1966 Galaxie trunk gutter patch panels

Hey guys,
Not a c body, but I started tearing down my Galaxie. Was wondering if anyone knew if patch panels were available for the trunk gutters or if there was anything available as a substitute.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I lived in Claycomo, Mo. when those were being built ('65, '66), liked driving by the assembly plant and seeing the sea of rows of them. I always liked the style. Is it a 7 Litre? Best of luck with it.

Originally a 289 car, right now it has a 390 with 3 x 2 barrels. The last of my non Chryslers. I've had her since '86, setting since 2001. Hoping to get her on the road next spring, then start on my '81 Imperial.

1965 started the new body for the full size Ford. That general layout, deep trunk, spare over the rear axle was used until the end in 2011.

While I don't know the interchangeability, that trunk configuration was used until 1976, last full size before the downsizing IIRC? If you can find a donor.

I think you're in the same boat as the C-Body owners. If you need patch panels you make them. I have a '70 Mercury, which has the same trunk as your Galaxie. I can't find anybody making body panels for it or my Newport. I did find some repop lower quarter panels on line for a '69 Galaxie, but I'm suspect of the quality. Besides, the wheel lip area is different on a Mercury anyway. If it helps, the full size were all basically the same from '65 -'78. Ford downsized their full size same year (1979) as Mopar introduced the R-Body, two years after GM downsized their full size models.

Actually I posted to the fordmuscleforum a little before posting here, and they gave me some good leads on cars in yards in CA and AZ. Also for some repro panels that I might be able to make work. Since this forum is a little more active, I thought I would throw it out here to see if anyone had any suggestions. Won't make that mistake again.
