I have a nos wiring harness part #2444088 that I can't find any info on it's application. If anyone knows what this fits it would be appreciated. Box is dated 6-70 . Thanks guys .

That sorta looks like a power seat harness to me - part number dates from 1963-ish - I looked through the 65 book listing, no luck, and the 62 and 63 books had lots more number that were very close, but again, no luck.

That harness has a big 12V feed wire coming in, a big black ground wire, and a lot secondary wiring - and all the terminals look like the screw into some sort of distribution blocks at both ends.

Just thoughts, no proof.

I don’t recognize those ends and I have a lot of used harnesses laying around.

Yeah it doesn't look like any I've seen before either, I bought a big load of nos at a estate auction last year and this was in there, only c-body that he had (that I'm aware of) was a 68 Newport.

I think the application is earlier than what we're generally familiar with - hence the light coloured wire wrap and a lack of plug in connectors. It looks like something one might see in a an engine bay, connected to a multi terminal buss bar or something.

Just thinking out loud...

The 2444 number may be a supersede from a 50s part number. Perhaps a recall retrofit??

Could be, I don't know if he worked in a dealership or not, but he had some odd ball parts that one just doesn't accumulate . I bought a box of nos fuel pumps, with everything from slant 6 pumps to a nos hemi pump .

Not in my ‘68 or ‘69 parts book.

My guess is that it is not for a car at all. The large gauge wires & ring terminals indicate it’s designed to carry some juice. My thoughts are along the lines of a truck or commercial vehicle of some sort, something with motors or servos that require some amps. Maybe an accessory such as a liftgate, scratching my head as to what it might be. Parts books for such vehicles are not near as common as car books.

numbers that start with 24 are generally 1963-64 and maybe 1965

I looked thru my car part books 1963-66 and truck 1961-68 and this number does not appear there

it could be a number that supersedes another # also

I tried to look up a supersede database, with no luck. How does one check supersedes backwards Marty?

I got quite a bit, around 100 pieces or so. The best thing I got was there was a box of about 8 nos fuel pumps, they were selling box lots by that point, I got the box for $5, not knowing what was in there mind you, I got home from the auction and just stuck everything in the garage. A couple of months went by, I decided to look though the box, most were used replacement's just put back in the original boxes, one new slant 6 pump, and of all things a nos hemi fuel pump, dated 1970. Needless to say to paid for everything plus some. The bad thing is I still haven't went through everything. Lol

OK here is how you find out what has happened to part #s

I've got these books from the early 1950s up to the 1990s. Also have them in microfiche form too.

I looked it up in a 1970 and 1980 book. Nothing! I've got older books but they are buried.

NS1, 2 3 etc. means cancelled/discontinued or at the dealership they would say "no ******* good".

U after a # means it supersedes to or by that other #

Cool - those books must be useful at times. I was hoping for that kind of database in a virtual form of some sort. That being said, I am starting to agree with the idea that the harness is not in the passenger vehicle line, but other. Could be Chrysler Marine - there seems to be a large gap in the numbers from 2440 xxx to 2444 xxx.
