I thought I'd post some of Car Art as my 100th Post. A lot of them are from Sophomore year of High School, some are from Junior and Senior year, but not a lot as I started focusing on 3D art and Theatre more. I might put up a picture of a 3D piece too.

This is what my car art has evolved into ever since I started making crappy side views of some cars back in sixth grade.

Also, as you can see, I'm pretty crap at drawing the wheels. The front one is a tad better because of the flatter perspective, but the rear is utter crap, but I'm making progress on that.

As a retired illustrator I think your drawings look good. The more you draw the better you will become. Try using colored pencils. Here are two shirts my nephews company printed for me from some drawings I did.

Great work. I love it.
Pencil and chalk was my favorite medium back in H.S.
Cars and buildings always the subject. Drove instructors nuts.

As with most subject art, proportions are important. Your drawings look great! And are very well proportioned. I didn't realize you were such a longroof fan. Prius and Tesla flanking the Charger! Sacrilege! The old building at the back ties everything together nicely, and the colours really help to make the whole scene pop. That one, and the wagon towing the Winnie are my favourites.

Yes. Many good artists can not get the proportions or perspective right drawing cars.
Like I told an art instructor, “anyone can draw fruit in a vase, try drawing a tire and wheel in 3/4 perspective”.

yup, been a fan of wagons for a while, I've been saving up money for a '69 Polara wagon since age 13 in hopes of finding one as a first car, but I might have to push that back a year, because life..

those look awesome! I've tried screen printing a few times but the design didn't work out that well..

I'm envious of anyone with artistic talent. My youngest son had the talent, got it from his mom, not from me. He even did some tattoos.

If I drew a car, it would look like this.

Nice work! I can't even draw stick figures. My mom, and especially my Uncle Mike, have major artistic ability. It must have skipped my generation because two of my daughters have quite a bit of talent.

After drafting and cad designing for over 35 yrs I’ve kinda lost that stroke necessary to sketch cars like I used to. I should see if it would come back. Now in retirement I find myself busier than ever even in this covid mess!

Good work! I can't draw to save my life!!
I was a decent draftsman when I was in college working for a defense firm (that actually paid me money for working in an A/C office vs fixing cars), including some very detailed cutaway machinery drawings, piping layouts and schematics, steel structure, etc. But that does NOT mean I can draw....zero artistic ability, stick figures, etc.

I got a real kick out of the OP's work.

@T-revorNobody -- really enjoy your drawings. My favorite drawing is the 1970 Monaco with an Airstream Trailer. The original ad is available in high-res at the ever-useful fuselage.de:

Love it!
Using a photograph is a good way to learn how lighting effects surfaces.

Great drawings! I've saved a couple to show my family.
