A junk yard flipping a Mecum car. The irony....

Agree with commando1 - sort of a "WTH is going on" thing. I too wonder how DVAP given their business wound up with it - seems unlikely they bought at Mecum.

And given we KNOW DVAP KNOWS what it is given they way they priced it, why didn't they present it a bit better?

Something here defies logic, Maybe its changed hands somehow (e.g., the Mecum buyer, then somebody who didnt know what he/she had, then to DVAP?)

Anyway, stolen at $9,350. I am not a buyer but would wire them $10K today if I were (and they washed it). $13,500? ... I have to have eyes on it first but could see that too if it checked out .

Darn nice car in any event. Hope it finds good home

The car is worth the asking price (that was not in the ad when first posted on this forum) of $13.5K from what I am seeing. Seeing a license plate from Alaska is really confusing - who needs a convertible in Alaska, at least most of the time?

The history of this car might be very interesting.

I don't believe that is an original dashpad though since I am not seeing the stitching that should be present but those seats look like new. For someone that likes these cars, it looks like a no brainer to me, but eyes on it would also be useful. I would like to know what the odometer reads as well as the body code plate.

I sold the one I had to a friend, also on this site and lives also in Arizona, and it too is B7 blue convertible with buckets/console and 440 HP and most all the options just like this one, but mine was rusty but not too bad. The one I sold had a black interior. But mine did not have that useless (to me) chromed front fender caps etc. Much cleaner in the front........................

Do you still have some pic,s of the one you sold Steve....?

Too bad this is a convertible. If it was an equivalent 2 door I would be paying much more than that asking. Actually, if it was a 4 door I would too.

Unfortunately I do not. After receiving the car I realized I would probably not restore it, rather I would just let it go to someone who enjoyed convertibles more than I do. So I didn't take photos and some of the trim was not on the car either, but still present in the trunk, so I didn't need photos of a car with pieces not mounted on the car.
