Urban deer

Anyone know what 'Woods Blind' is?
I'm no hunter, but I'd say it's something like one of these.

I've hit two deer and avoided a bunch of collisions with them over the years.

I had one run out in front of me the other night. I had the dash cam on, but it was already overwritten by a couple days of driving when I checked it today, so I can't show it. 4 lane road, just down from Walmart... One of the last places I'd expect a deer, but there she was. I was in the right lane, stopped and laid on the horn... Lucky for the guy that went screaming by me in the left lane because the deer took off the way he came from. If I hadn't done that, the guy would have hit the deer. He did see it though and pounded the brakes at the last minute... He would have hit it, no doubt.

I've seen them hit right near downtown Syracuse. They walk up the train tracks and wonder down onto the streets. I saw one get hit in a spot where you would expect a gang shooting...

I only hunt by accident. With a Jeep! After 28 years of cottage ownership up north I finally hit a deer a mile and a half from the cottage. Never saw that big boy but felt the thump and saw flying fur. The Grand Cherokee punted that eight pointer right back across the road as I was doing fifty miles an hour.

We were in Riudoso New Mexico this week and the deer and elk were everywhere. Very tame due to all the tourists. They know if they stay in town no worries about hunters

I think I shared this one in 1 of my threads a couple of months back. This guy was in my clients backyard in Birmingham this past summer.

No John 'Woods Blind' is what city people have when they go into the woods.
Story about when I learned it. A customer of mine, jokingly referred to as 'The Great White Hunter' and I were coming back from (I take it) the Aeroquip shop to get a hose for a plow as it was just before Christmas and the traffic was very bad. I'm straining my brain as to why we were on that road and at the intersection where this happened, all I can think is we were trying to get around the center of town and the Christmas traffic. Anyways as were sitting at the intersection waiting for a break in the very long line of cars the 'The Great White Hunter' says "See that group of Deer over at the woods line of that field?". Now this was at dusk or 'Twilight' as the sun had gone down but it was still light as it was a cold cloudless winter day, I said "What Deer?" all I see and am concentrating on is the long line of headlights of the traffic and going WTF is all this traffic... we took this back road to avoid this. So I'm straining looking around this big *** field trying to see what he's talking about with him just saying "you can't see them", but as he makes the left turn I look out the passenger window of his truck and way down in the back corner of this big *** field is 4 or 5 deer, I go oh yea there they are. Eyes like a hawk he has when it's comes to spotting game, he then tells me "Your woods blind Ricky". I just shake my head and think let's get the fluck home.

I passed a city bus that had hit a deer a couple nights ago. The deer must have wandered down the railroad tracks near there as there was no wooded area anywhere near that spot.
