Has 440 big block, 727 automatic transmission, 4 barrel carb, fast car Body is 99% rust free, the only minor rust on the whole body is the front floors Has new Transmission seal and transmission line, new thermostat, spark plugs, wires, speedometer cable, voltage regulator, Recently undercoated Long tube headers Used to be my daily, drove like a new car, Has a bad lifter and can’t be driven right now Can send video of it running Just want something better on gas Needs towed 3,900 obo or trade Want gone soon Don’t have garage

I remember this car from an ad from about August or September? The dude only had like one photo of it..and he was asking $5000 for it if I recall correctly...with the new photos and the dropped price seems like a pretty decent deal..could skim maybe another couple hundred off with some shrewd negotiation

Referencing post #3 . . .

The additional trim and interior indicate a Newport Custom. It needs to find a good home.

I respectfully disagree. The door trim looks like that exclusive to the Newport Royal. For comparison, the trim on the Newport and Newport Custom can be seen here: https://www.hamtramck-historical.com/dealerships/1971ColorAndTrimChrysler-05.shtml

The Royal series came later in MY 1971, and there is no entry for it in the trim book scanned on the Hamtramck Registry. However, here is an example of the door trim from another Royal for sale a few months back:

For Sale - 1971 Newport Royal in CO (2dr, looks like GJ4)

The door trim in the Colorado car was the exact same as in this car. The color is different, the CO car was G1F7, the OH one should should be G1L2 (if we ever get to see the tag).

With respect to the 1967 Newport listing posted in this thread, above . . .

Please note the VIN in the listing . . . "CL41". In 1966, CL was a Newport designation, as in CL42 on our '66 Newport Town Sedan. My 1967 Newport is a "CE", which is listed as "Chrysler Economy" in the FSM, with "CL" being "Chrysler Low" Newport Custom.

Also, the USA side trim on the 1967 Newport Custom (CL) is different than that on my 1967 Newport (CE). Note the additional ornamentation on the deck lid (assist handles and the chrome band between them) that is unique to the '67 Newport Custom (CL) models. The '67 "CL" side trim follows the lower body contours, rather than being on the rocker panel, as my '67 "CE" Newport is. Very visual differences.

For the record, the rocker panel trim on the '67 Newport (CE) and the '67 New Yorker are the same exact molcings, other than where the black paint is applied. On the Newport, the black paint is applied in the recesses, on the New Yorker item, it is applied to the raised areas. Same stamping.

Respectfully,
CBODY67

I must be missing something: the car in the listing above is a 1971 Newport Royal (mis-spelled as Royale in the FB ad in Athens, Ohio), not a 1967 Bewport. Are we talking about the same car?
