A4 70 Sport Fury GT finally complete!

I've been old these cars really don't like snow. Probably best you send it down to NC and let it stay with me during the cooler months :D :D. I really really like this car!

Gorgeous, as is the rest of the car.

Question, not a criticism - Is that the correct brake booster for a '70? I thought they had the Bendix Dual Diaphragm up until 71... painted black of course like yours is, rather than rebuilder's grey...

I'm interested in what's the reason you have a different one.

Cheers!
You would have to ask the previous owner Pistol Pete. He did the engine. I couldn’t tell you.

Cool, thanks for the clarification. Often there are several boosters that can work in any one application, hence parts stores like Rock Auto will state something like "The part you order may not look like the one you're replacing, but fit and function will be to factory specs". Maybe that's what happened here, or maybe there are two original boosters depending on vendor supply stuff and build plant location yadda yadda...

You should be very proud of your car!

The booster (which was bad) that was in the car when I bought it was not correct. I bought the one in the car from Booster Dewey as it was all he had in stock and I didn't have the correct core to rebuild.

Just finished restoring the console

Great car, awesome work: enjoy it!

A4 silver is rare AND cool on our big boats! Mine was originally also A4.

EDIT says: I just realised that @CanCritter was the one hinding to abcmoparts - thank you!

Dga. Your GT turned out beautiful! I hope to see it someday. I am up near Eau Claire, WI.

Be fun to meet in Marquette for a lake drive.

Beautiful! Your friend Pistol Pete sure has done a great job repainting PH23T0D121525. For those interested in knowing more about the history of this car, which was previously owned by @5wndwcpe, see here.

@Cags70PolaraConvert -- the pictures posted by @Dga26 show a green tinge that is consistent with what you have seen on your originally-EA4 1970 Polara 'vert.

Did Pistol Pete do the body work/prep too? That is a very straight/flat body and the paint shows the expert work well.

That’s a very good looking GT Sir! Congratulations, well done.

If I may point out something that most restored GT’s are missing or restorers get wrong, including yours, I hope you won’t be offended, as I’m not trying to be “right” or point out errors, I just thought you would want your car to be correct.

The entire front grill horizontal “bars” or “ribs” should be in flat semi textured argent.

The front grill was not solid semi-flat black from the factory.

It requires many hours of detailed masking, and skill to get it right.

Nonetheless...a lovely A4 GT!!!
