For Sale 1962 880 convertible nice but expensive 25K

These ARE rare, and this one is QUITE nice, or at least it looks that way from the photos, which there should be a WHOLE LOT more of at this price. Not sure if that upholstery. not to mention exterior color; are original red, or have been redone in "resale red." Not enough of these seem to change hands to establish a baseline price. This one WILL be fun to watch, though.....
 
I have to disagree that it’s too expensive unless it’s rusted badly in its belly
IMHO, the red interior makes this convertible pop.

The red on red works very well on this example of automotive history

I agree with the above and I used as a comparison to my '62 300 however with mine being a 300 plus factory stick shift mine may be worth more.

I did not realize that the 62s upholstered the dash.

It's too expensive for the cheap skates on C bodies only and it does not have a woman's name [yet]
You all nit pik just about every car that comes on here like it's the 60's and 70's instead of 45+ yrs later. Then there is the junk turds people try to sell that should be crushed and you all want to save the junk...instead of buying the nice cars

Several cars in this price range have come and gone through members on this site.
True, C body folks tend to be frugal, but mainly because most can't afford to buy a car in this price range, not because we don't think it's worth it.
I think it's priced fairly considering it's negotiable. I think my Polara is close to the same value and I would trade for this Car in a flash.

Oh..... Junk turds that should be crushed ?????? Folks here are big on preservation. Every car can either be restored or become a needed parts source. These aren't B/E body's.... No Chinese repop stuff available.

Upholstered/padded dash pads were an option on most all Mopars then. Usually as a package with padded sun visors. Not many folks opted for them.

I'm not sure the seats and dash pad are done to OEM on this car. But they look great and seem to be well done. I wouldn't kick it out of the garage for leaking oil!
 
Nice CLODGE!
A rare example of badge engineering.
What a Desoto would have looked like if they did not cancel it.
Chrysler Newport shorter wheelbase, rear quarters, rear bumper and tail lights with Dodge dash and front clip.
The front looks like a Star Wars Storm Trooper with his face bashed in.
60 years later so ugly that it is pretty and a very cool conversation piece.
Exner's last minute ditch effort during the sales slump of the early 60's.
It did not help. Lol.
Not to worry... Elwood was in the design studio working feverishly on new designs.
 
Wonder if there's a way to "forward" this listing to the Forward Look group?.

I think '61 is the end of the era, as they define it, nonetheless that is probably a good place for a special CLODGE like this to find an appreciative owner. Besides, if the front end on these doesn't say "late Forward Look" I don't know what would...….

cbarge is right on the money here. The story of the Dodge 880 is a fascinating (and long overlooked) one, of early badge / parts bin engineering, that wound up successfully selling a decent number of cars for Dodge, and tided them over until the C-bodies arrived in '65. Styling on them evolved interestingly, and the '64 is a favorite of mine.
