Curious why they would squeeze the exhaust under the driveshaft instead of going out each side.
 
I am not a circle track guy, but I thought they raced cc and that exhaust would be on the right.
 
I believe, based on the guard rail, that this was the track at Darlington. (One of my favorites). In those days the trick to get around turns 3-4 was to lay the rear bumper against the rail and power around. Hence "The Darlington stripe".
