It even has its rain deflectors to add that nice little touch; a beauty!
One could easily find an engine for it in a B Body.

Seems deserving of New life for sure. Unfortunately not by me.. No space or money.. and my ache enemy. Wifey

E63 on fender tag originally equipped with a 400-2 barrel engine.

Also, I was incorrect on possibly being a 9 passenger as fender tag shows its a DP45 model which is a 6 passenger wagon.

Still looks to be in good condition and would be a cool project

I’m not a wagon guy, but I’m assuming the difference between 6 and 9 passenger is the rear facing seat option?

I’m not familiar enough with the option packages on the 1972 wagons. Since this one is coded for the luggage roof rack (M91) and grab assist handles (M95) would that also include the rear bumper step pads ?

Or could be that those rubber strips on the back bumper are part of the M85 “bumper guard package” which this wagon is coded for and would expect since it has the front bumper guards. Though usually the front and rear guards are coded separately.

I've been told and led to believe that grab handles, and bumper steps were not included with the 3rd seat option. You could order any of those three things without the other.

True, grab handles and rear steps don't automatically mean a 3rd seat. The best way to tell if it has the third seat is the 46 in the vin.

Left the Chicagoland area around 330am...been driving through rain most of the way to Virginia. Picked it up and headed back out right away. Just now stopped in Kentucky to catch a few Zzz's. Will post some better pics later
Thanks to Xenon for coaxing me into getting it...I wasn't all in at first, but now I really like the color

Great save! MonacoBlue has been a trailblazer in my opinion in figuring out the restoration of the woodgrain on these cars. I'm sure he will be able to help guide you if there are any questions you have along the way.
