Has your classic car ever been used in a movie?
I drove this 2dr post baby blue 57 Mercury (at bottom of pic) in the movie Joy Luck Club.
Also drove a 66 valiant signet in The Doors movie. It's just a blur in the background of the haight ashbury love in park scene. Got $150 a day in the early 90s. Studio gave a extra $50 if you wore your own vintage clothing. The had clip on vintage license plates to put over my plates. It's was a lot of fun. They don't produce that many time period films anymore?

My 66 T&C was used in a movie called Deacons For Defence.

My 64 880 wagon was used in a viper commercial and my 61 hearse was used in a tv movie, based on the Black Delhi case.

my buddy's 65 plymouth convertible was used in Scrooged but they cut the scene....his 41 sedan was used in another one and they gave it a free awful paint job that took him years to undo...

On the set of “Love By Drowning” Filmed in Portland Maine a couple of years ago ( N Carolina plates are props) My brothers 70 Dart was driven by a primary actor, my convertible was used as a prop at the “brother reunion“ scene, and later at “town fair”scene! The wife and I were also extras for the fair scene!
The movie is currently in theaters in Arizona and New Mexico... larger release scheduled as the Kung flu allows!!

Just saw a movie on Netflix call Awake. Not bad for an apocalyptic theme. The premise is an EMP from a solar flare knocks out electronics and...the ability to sleep. The reason I bring it up here is that everyone in the movie now needs an old car without computer if they want to get around. Panic and death trying to get one. Seems pretty easy to me It would be interesting if the world was ruled by old car clubs and big c-bodies were king. Anyway, the main characters were driving a 73 polara. And yes, some damage was inflicted on it.

Sorry, off topic, but thanks for the idea! I've been trying to figure out how to attach some decorative vanity plates over my real license plates just for car shows and photo shoots. I was considering magnets or velcro. I never thought about attaching binder clips to the backside of the vanity plates until you mentioned that the movie companies use clip-ons. That way I could just clip them onto the top edge of my real plates.
