Gas tank, Repair or Replace?

I want to replace my fuel tank too. My carburetor became dirty right after I rebuilt it (even with 2 filters). The fuel tank is a 4 vent type. Can I also use a 2 vent or would you recommend to go with the 4 vents.

Well that was fun, the perfect remedy for COVID boredom. After a clean out using brand name “gas tank cleaner” from O-O-O ORLY’s that was useless, I did a white distilled vinegar soak for 5 days and then a pressure washer at 1500 PSI with water which worked great. 16 years worth of old gas sludge and small embedded pieces of the old sending unit float gone. A heat gun then alcohol to get water out and a bit of new gas sloshed around and inside of tank was ready to go.

Looks like you’re done.

If you wanna go an extra step, maybe do like I mentioned earlier and put some gravel in it and shake it back and fourth and side to side to knock of any remaining stuck on stuff.
