1964-1966 Imperial Taillight Lens Gaskets

"Since I am planning some rear Bumper work on my Imps. I was wondering how the Taillight gaskets came out ? Who has feedback ?
Did QQE ever do the Back-Up gaskets for the '66 Imp ? "

That lens appears to not be a pure rectangle while the gasket does, or is that just the angle of the photo? The lens in fact looks very similar to 65 Polaras with the apparent angles, and may be born out somewhat by the 65 cast in the lens.

I checked the P/N (2525 261) and it also fits the 1965 big dodges too, although not sure of the Specific models.

Another point: The Gasket P/N is 2483309,Fits '66 Imp and Some '65 Big Dodges. Two Required per car, so Fits Left or Right.

Talked to Todd at QQE and I ordered two pair of Tail light gaskets and sent him the '66 Imperial NOS B/U lens gasket as a sample. I requested the sample return with the T/L gasket order. I will keep everyone posted.

Got my two pairs T/L Gaskets from QQE Today and they are Very nice. Thanks goes out to Matt for suppling that sample and QQE for making them. I will keep everyone updated on the '66 B/U lens gaskets .

I made a set for my 66 NYer years ago. I went to a roofing supply store and asked for goodyear roofing rubber (they call it membrane). A lot of commercial buildings with a flat roof use it. I asked for a couple yards thinking that would be enough. Cost about $20 in 2001. I was surprised when they opened the door and carried it out on a forklift. Turns out a couple yards is 6 ft by 30 or so feet, weighed about 40 pounds. There are a lot of uses for it in auto work. So I have a lifetime supply for car work. I am sure prices have gone up some since then, but you don't need to buy two yards either.

I originally used it for making the splash guards under the hood. Used it to line the drawers in my tool box too. When replacing the tail light gaskets I used the originals. laid them out, drew the outline on the rubber with a gray sharpie and cut them out with a xacto knife. Drilled out the screw holes and reassembled the lights. It's about 1/16 - 3/32" thick so slightly thicker than the originals.
