I had zero response over on the forward look site on this subject.
I plan on applying the optional sport tone two tone paint on Virgil.
A rare paint option available on 1961 Fury only models. I'm looking for any information on the "cut" lines between the two colors. Photos of the originals would be great. Bottom of the hood and deck lid, and the door jamb area.

The option was announced in a bulletin dated May 12 of 61. (Of which I have a copy), Likely to help spur interest and sales. Option code is 276. Not many came out of the factory with this option. I have not located a single car with that code on the tag. All that I have seen likely were done at the dealer level after delivery, or the code was not included on the tag, so there have been variances. If anyone has seen or knows of a factory example I would love to have the information, Original pictures would be great

Thanks
Will.

Maybe someone on the linked forum might have the answer.

Good luck Wil, what colors are you going with?

The emerald and white, as in the photos above. but opposite. White, (primary color), above the trim line. With a white convertible top. The interior is primarily teal/green, (dash, side panels, carpet), and the seats are all white with 2" pleats. Another rare factory option this car was originally equipped with.

Beautiful. I think reversing the colors will look even better!

You and me both Bob, He's going back together now, for the final time. I'm going back up to hang the doors this week. We'll have to cruise at Carlisle when he's completed.

I'm looking forward to it Will!
