'66 & '67 Newports

There are two Newports in my area for sale right now. Curious what, if any, mechanical differences there might be between the two years. Look wise I think the '67 grille and tail panel are a slightly more attractive combo than the '66 and both way better than '68.

I think the 66's are more stylish IMO. The 67's look similiar to the 68's except for the front ends.

Actually both are 4 door sedans. You don't get to see many C Body Chryslers around here. Anyway just toying with the idea.

I like the 66s, but I agreed with Stan even before I saw the pictures, and even moreso after...

Some 15" Magnums would look nice with that light blue... :yes:

The yellow one (66?) looks more like my 65, a more squared-off front and a more rounded body, with vestigial tail fins. Since in Pleasanton, CA they may have minimal rust. My 65 was a San Luis Obispo, CA car before I bought it in 1991. In didn't have a spot of rust, even behind the bumpers. I had it outside in GA for 6 yrs, but it still hasn't shown hardly any rust anywhere. But especially check under the passenger floor.

I like the ;67 better, it has a better dash layout, and the Newport Custom has a nicer interior. Then again I'm partial. Having perhaps the nicest surviving 1967 Newport Custom (38K original miles) makes my decision much easier. [smile]

Sorry, but 68 was the high water mark for slabs in my opinion.
