"better to be silent and thought stupid rather than open mouth and prove it"
The irony of your last post is lost on you, isn't it?

Since you're insisting, let's see if you might have a point. The OP asked for opinions about the value of CM27L8C194087

--> AFAICT every single post prior to yours was relevant to the valuation:

@commando1 opined that the car could be of interest to European members, which is correct (TNT matters) -- and @azblackhemi made sure that the currency conversion was correct.

@1970FuryConv pointed out that the buyer base would be reduced by the fact that this 300 'vert has holes on the floors -- since it is illegal to drive such a car in some states (not only VA as pointed out, as there are others). Many members in states where it would be legal to do so will have little interest anyways in driving a car with floor openings that let fumes in, as @CBODY67 correctly noted.

@68PK21 440.6bbl asked a question about what brought about the driver's seat condition, which is relevant not only for the seat itself (which will need rebuilt) but possibly also for other damage to the rest of the car (e.g., a rodent chewing on wires). @Scott 440 TNT responded in good spirits and joked about it, which is nice of him.

@detmatt pointed out that the car's color scheme and options make it more valuable, and that the timing of the sale matters -- both facts are relevant to valuation.

Bottom line, I respectfully submit that the only posts that are immaterial to the car's valuation are your own. I have no objection to your making idle banter, BTW, as such back-and-forth can bring about some useful info that might not otherwise emerge. I do, however, find it objectionable that you would call in the mods on the posters of useful information.

You’ve been on FCBO for a total of two posts before this one, and you call the mods over friendly banter? Must be the Christmas spirit

This said , back to the topic.

It’s difficult to say without knowing more details about your work. In your garage description, you said that you replaced the freeze plugs “that you could get to” —> did you get to all of them? You also mentioned that you replaced the tank with a “B-body tank” —> why?

it is great to have work already done, but one needs to know more. If you could post links to threads where you describe what you did and why, then it’d be easier to answer.
I appreciate your questions.
When I got the car it was a crap shoot weather it would run or move under it’s own power, and then there was the title. Getting a bonded title isn’t easy or cheap. So to answer your questions, I have not been doing restoration level work on it, I have been doing the repairs needed to get it to the next level and re-assess from there. I did replace six freeze plugs, I didn’t pull the motor so I could replace all of them. As for the tank, B-body with sender for $150 and C-body $400 +. With the cars starting point I’m proud to have brought it back from near death. It’s a very nice car and I would love for it to get a serious restoration. I’m glad to answer any questions about the car.
Thanks

is this a for sale ad or just a BS session? Moderators should drop all these comments
IF it bothers you that much ignore the post and move on. It doesn't bother the seller he is selling a very nice car with great potential. It doesn't bother the interested parties who are pointing out concerning issues both positive and negative. Some of these people know each other for many years and buy and sell to each other all the time. People joke around occasionaly. Many here are friends for many years. The major majority will help anyone who asks. Do people sometimes break chops and joke around? Yes and that's the way most like it. Then along comes you and you have a problem after two weeks and we are the problem. I hope this car gets sold and one of these members buy it. That is what frequently happens and another one gets saved.

Lovely car that would look amazing restored and should be saved. I hope somebody picks it up for resto.

I hate to be the bah-humbug Grinch but... pretty lofty goals you have, I don't know what the bonded title cost ya or the tow but I don't see the $$$$ here.
You need to modify your survey to include a cut & run price.
I'll wait for the after Christmas sale. :D

.

i figured it out.

flood car.

part it out and get as much money as you can back out of it.

try not to die -

If I had any evidence that the car had been flooded I would have most definitely stated that.
Of course we all know of Houston's history with flooding so it is a legitimate question.
It would be a shame to part this car out, it's nowhere near in that bad of condition.
Try not to die? Explain please

Love the TNT part, hope it goes to a good home.

Good luck in getting your asking price. Even though it's a real L code 300 'vert, not much love for them, and the condition doesn't help, but that's not your fault. Whomever would buy it hopefully would do so for the love of the car and would not regret the $$$$ spent to refurbish or restore it.

Not much love? :wtf:

The cold reality is that car would do good to sell at 4k. That's the hold out and wait price. The all cars must go, or I work on it more scheme is 3k
