I heard an interview of Mr. Lasorda when he retired for health reasons (a little while ago on NPR). It was mentioned that the Dodgers was the only team he ever worked for, which was unusual as other coaches usually had several teams they worked for during their career. Plus that he coached a US Olympic baseball team to victory after his retirement from the Dodgers.
