Pictures, Pictures, Pictures... How many times do we have to say that.

Wait, there are 15 of this 'HillBilly Hideout' I'm only going to do one, you really don't want to see the rest.

Oh wait I lied, this is kinda cool(?).

I owned one. 413 auto. 727TF. 4.10 gears. On an M30 chassis. Just like this one. Dodge instrumentation, Camaro rolldown windows. Really odd rig. And yes, that is where the air cleaner mounts!

After seeing the movie Slither when I was around 8 years old, these motorhomes have always give me the creeps. Can't shake that initial impression from way back when.

In that movie, looks like they modified the motorhome for stunts. The wheel covers sit proud of the wheels in the front....not sure what's going on there.
In the scene where the motorhome goes airborne, the rear axle drops way down and doesn't look supported in the back. How would this even be driveable?

I see an Imperial!

That is... U G L Y!!!!

The Dodge Discoverer motor homes maybe a "love it or hate it" and are definitely "unique" but not considered ugly by many.
At one time these things were highly sought after. (maybe not so much anymore).

They were designed with one purpose, to maximize aerodynamics on a vehicle (large RV's) known to have horrendous MPG and power.

In fact the Discoverer was the creation of designer Larry Shinoda, famous for the Mustang Boss 302 and several 60's vette show cars and production corvettes.
He incorporated some muscle car inspired touches like the chrome hood release lock pins.

Here's an original factory ad

You know the cliché, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Even the Pontiac Aztec had its fans!

Starting to see those things with new paint jobs using more flattering themes. Starting to grow on me.
I'm the opposite on many cars. The older I get, ones that I used to think were great I know find quite unattractive. The '58 Edsel is one. Loved them when I was a kid. Today I think the '59 is a much better looking car. The '60?? U G L Y!!!

I used to love the '59 Caddy. Today I find it gaudy. The '58 and the'60 are better looking cars, and the '61 trumps both.

The first atomic powered bus, nonstop from NY to Denver....LOL. Bowling alley, piano bar, self washer without stopping. Co pilot called "shoulders", (because he would pass out at the wheel and drive on the shoulder of the road).
OH, can't forget the bus drivers bar......... "WATCH OUT", he's got a broken milk carton".
Non stop slap stick.
