Thanks for posting about PH23K2D337496. The car has been modified with SF headlights (Edit: sports L37 optional concealed headlamps, thank you @bigmoparjeff) and the interior, partly redone (cue the incorrect-color carpet, and imperfectly redone dash pad and front armrests; the headliner does not look original either). Dual exhaust is not original either. The vinyl roof looks news (with incorrect "button" brightwork and an incorrect seam) and the trunk seems to have been repainted.

Nice-looking car regardless, and the A/C apparently works. @Analog Kid

Agree. Gran Coupe grille, no SF after '71. Quarters don't match (a shade darker than the rest of the car) and the right quarter either has a dent or has waves. A decent car with potential but priced a bit high IMHO. Would want to check out those quarter panels for rust repairs.

Despite what some in this group will say, hidden headlights were optional on Fury III and Custom Suburban wagons. It's possible that they are original to this car. The fender tag would tell the truth. I think the code is L42.

One of the bumpers is not original though. It has rubber guards in the rear and none in the front.

I agree that it's overpriced, considering the myriad of obvious flaws.

I was not aware of that L42 option, and did not see it in the options list (http://www.fuselage.de/ply72/72ply11b.jpg) or the dealership data book (https://www.hamtramck-historical.co...alershipDataBook/1972/72_Plymouth_Specs_4.jpg).

Nice catch on the bumper guards:

I was also unaware of the hidden headlights being optional. I'm not convinced either.
Isn't it possible that you could get guards on one end and not the other? Unless im misunderstanding something.

All I know is back in the late 70's my dad bought a 72 fury wagon that had hidden headlights. It had never been wrecked and was not that old at the time so they had not been added to the car.

L42 is the headlight delay option (bottom of column 2)

See the link I provided from the Hamtramck Library. You could get front without rear, but not the opposite. Same on 1970 Polaras, as you know (M81 vs. M85 option).

Please do not ask me why I'm chuckling :)

Rivets not screws.

Then, screws not rivets.

Research continues....

I believe this car was posted before with pass. qtr. panel damage. Not 100% sure.
Your inbox is full. Tried to send you a PM about the turquoise '71 SF in your garage

Sold the car in May 2018 after being downsized. Car was purchased by a young man near Fort Wayne, IN. A town southeast, called Decatur. That was a real nice car, I hated to let it go. Never had any major problems, drove it to Carlisle all but 3 years from 2006 - 2016. I put it on a trailer in 2017 to see if I really wanted to buy a trailer. That was a experience with a UHaul trailer.

That car was an awesome, unique machine. The perfect car for "sporty" and family.

Thank you. connecting the dots. If I am correct, I think the person you sold it to will never let it go. Bad for me, good for the car!
