Nice looking car, (and 67-69 Barracudas best looking A bodies IMO). I don't think a top alone gets a 318 car into that price range though.

A car like that ( piece of Chrysler history ) need these wheels..........but i don,t like that model.......the fastback is much better!!! IMO....:)

What happened to "wow what a nice car"? vs
This is a model that should have blackwalls or at most RWL.

Look around, how many of these do you see? How many are real? I've seen a handful of Barracudas, a a Satellite, and the only known A12 Super Bee. Only one had been fake, they used the floral pattern on the seats, door panels and roof, but it didn't come that way. Always fun talking to people who've known a car after talking in the current owners.

These cars are not around in great numbers, they never were to begin with. The local car to me, dark green with the yellow top and seats, the owner turned down an offer close to this asking price. He jokes about how it's his kids college fund. No matter what, they don't grow on trees, and finding one in this condition is going to cost whomever buys it. I wouldn't pay that much, but I can't blame them for trying to get an insane amount for a car that doesn't have many examples remaining. I'm sure this is the same car I saw at The Nats many years ago. And I'm sure my pictures are in analog form.

I know there would be a premium for coming from the Julian collection, but that sounds way too high. They estimated $50-70 and if it had bid up over $100k, that wouldn't have surprised me given the history, but at close to 10x the estimate?? Maybe a couple guys with money to burn just had to have it... but I don't know.

There had to be some talk on the other forums if this car went for that much. Now I gotta do some searching and maybe see if there was someone in the room when it was sold.

69Monaco, I don't know you and it's not in my nature to up set anybody but I've gotta ask. Have you ever sat in or driven a 2nd generation Fast Back Barracuda? I did a ground up on a '68 convertible for my wife and we both loved that little Drop Top, but the Fast Backs were good for doing only one thing. That was going in a straight line for 1320' and not getting it sideways. The reason I ask the question iz that you can hide a semi truck in the blind spot of that B-Pillar. Hell, just needing to change lanes on a 4 lane Hi-way will put you into a panic mode. Next time you have an opportunity to climb into one check out what I just said. Happy Trails, Jer

Jer......... i owned a 68 barracuda convertible myself ........must be 10 years ago .
There,s a big differents between the normal barracuda and a Formula S.
I never drove a formula S but they have the heavy duty upgrate parts and they can handle corners............

This is a great video of a Formula S......enjoy!! Grtzs Martin.

I,m 6.4 so these cars are not made for me ; wish they made these fastback model for C body ; then i would buy one....:).

That,s why i.m asking myself why have 80% of the classic US cars one outside mirror...????
I see cars with 2 fendertags , all kind of optione ................and one mirror...:realcrazy:
The same thing they say about the newer generation challenger.....blind spot..if you.r not sure if someone there ......pedal to the metal and look again in the mirrors.......:).
