The body seems pretty nice, wish there were some interior and under hood pics. That car is sitting pretty low to the ground. The magnum 500 wheels with the trim rings were an AMC and maybe Ford, Chrysler magnum wheel had all chromed wheels.

The Mopar 14 inch road wheel in 68 had no trim ring ans was chromed. In 69 the trim ring came, but the Magnum was no longer offered on the Chrysler.

This car wears the 69 and after style, probably added later in the car's life..

Are you sure? I think in 68 aftermarket Magnum 500s were optional or dealer installed, but in late 68 or 69 Mopar made their own with trim rings.

The factory ones are road wheels not Magnum 500s.

From the 68 literature, you can see they were available from Mopar... no trim ring:

As I said, and you quoted, I said the Magnum 500 aftermarket wheels were available in 68 but Mopar eventually developed their own road wheels with trim rings.

The wheels pictured, advertising was early pics, were aftermarket Magnum 500s.

What is your point? I said the earlier aftermarket wheels were an option.

So are you saying the 68 wheels have no pentastar cast into them? Never had a set of 68 Magnums. All the ones I have seen had the pentastar by the valve stem...interesting.

1. No

2. ?

3. The early wheels were supplied by the company that made the Magnum 500 wheels. They may have stamped the pentastar into them. IDK, but haven’t seen one with a pentastar.

To simplify this.

In at least early 68, Mopar was using/being supplied with the aftermarket Magnum 500s, then developed their own and called them Road Wheels because the Magnum 500 name was trademarked and they were saving money for using a wheel that was similar.

Does anyone live close to this car. Would love to get someone to put eyes on it and tell me what they think. He hasn't been super responsive

Do you have a phone number that I can call and talk to you about it. I have been looking at so many I can't keep track.
