Name that girl

Day off .. will try one.

Just saw her yesterday in an insurance company TV commercial recently on aging well. She will be 65 in July this year. Hard to find any photo of her where she is not instantly recognizable. So, I will go a little heavier on the clues, hoping not to make it too easy.

First, she was world famous for her sports accomplishments in the 1970's, and second for a fashion "statement"that you can still see even now 45 years later, let alone in a gozillion family and yearbook photos in the late 70's.

Even in her early teens, her "iconic" look and electric smile and you would know her with no clues. Hence this photo below from the 1980's when she took up a Shakespearean mix of "old and hew" in TV movie role using her looks and athletic talent.

I dug this lady at the time, still think she's a beautiful "senior citizen" who is in fact aging well in real life. Good luck

Oh man. I had the hots for her. Glasses and all. Still looking pretty good.

I am "retiring" from this thread until next holiday :)

But first, one more .. while our younger members may be chewin' on #902, its time for older members to knaw on this one for a bit maybe?

Age 46 now. Actor, director, producer. Not a n"A" list mega star, she's had memorable roles tho -- you'd say 'oh, I know her" even if not by her name.

Roles ranging from trying to seduce an "ancient" virgin, to being married to a guy who became an alien, on to a "love story" about making a **** film, all the way to "clawed-up", oddball character from a fictional dystopian future.

She even first-time directed a wildly financially successful musical movie aimed at young people, while also winning directing "raspberry" (deservedly IMHO) for a different movie -- one of worst movies ever made.

Except for maybe the eyes, you likely wont know her from the photo of this 6 year old version of her. Unless you havent been to the movies in past two decades, you also may not get her from the clues.

Yes this one is intended to be harder than others .. even for the 40-somethings here in her age group.

seriously, all is good. thanks for the courtesy of asking. :)

my goals were where C-body Bob started it. i hope we can keep it around as a fun "distraction" that some members (and our families - my kids play along) with interest in it can wallow in some nostalgia.

I had to double check, but I had #902 from the get go, just old enough to remember her all over tv while growing up in the 80's. Always a looker.

I’ll offer one. I don’t think she been posted yet.

I love older movies and this actress is a personal favorite.

Born in 1906, she started making movies in 1930 and quickly was a fan favorite starring with the biggest leading men. She was very pretty, funny, short, blonde, with a bubbly personality. She was in a lot of comedy-drama type movies. Later in the 50-70s was a guest star / character actress in most of the TV shows you will remember.

She still made appearances in movies too, and was in a 70’s massive hit movie I’ll bet most of you have seen. Died 1979.

Prior to the movies she was a local beauty queen.

Hold off if you get her name to give others a chance. You can PM guesses if you like.

face slightly familiar, but no name is coming to me yet...I'll soldier on a while.

Question: when she did TV (1960's if I have the right lady) work was she still (though older obviously) blonde-ish with the gray hair?

She started TV in 50s but usually playhouse theater type stuff, then starting in early 60s through 79 lots of guest appearances as characters, but only a few recurring roles, two I think, and not necessarily well known.

In 70s she did:
Switch
McCloud
Starsky and Hutch
Medical Center
Fantasy Island
Love Boat

Yes, her hair was usually mainly blond, but sometimes blond-platinum ish or gray.

She put her feminine fingers on the deck for several very famous actors in a memorable marathon poker game movie in the mid sixties.
