Had similar problem on my 1976. Also check at the backside of fusebox. The power side of the wire sometimes burns out due to small gauge wire used

Instead of (potentially) wasting time and money on parts which (may) or may not be faulty, leave the car with s competent auto electrician and spend that amount on getting the car sorted from front to rear.

Hello Guys,
So here is the update for this past week. As you all know, I purchased and received MoPar Time Delay Relay Part Number 2889 565 from eBay, and I recently got the chance to install it. My dad and I pulled the old one, which looked fine, and installed the NOS one from eBay. Unfortunately, after installing the NOS one, the switch title lights and ignition light did not turn off. Then, we decided to pull the relay out, and the lights did turn off, so that is a positive! However, I am concerned about some of the other things that this relay is connected to. According to the electrical schematic, this relay is connected to the following:
Wire D3: Stop Lamp Switch, Key-In, & Headlamp On
Wire M2: Door Switch
Wire J15: Ignition Switch (Wire J15 is also what connects this relay to the Headlamp Switch Title Light and the Windshield Washer Switch Title Light. I presume it also connects to the Ignition Light, and these three lights are the ones that were staying on).
What I do find interesting is that this relay connects to the Stop Lamp Switch, which was the beginning of all of my electrical problems a couple of months ago.
My question is this: Will unplugging and removing this Time Delay Relay have any adverse effects on any other electrical functions other than the loss of the Headlamp Switch Title Light, the Windshield Washer Switch Title Light, and the Ignition Light? Also, could this cause a risk of electrical fire?

The relay is like a timer...things stay lit until the bi-metallic strip heats up and breaks contact. Did you wait for it to do that?
did the lights go out with the door closed?
i can't speak for the newer cars like yours but on the older ones, when you open the door, the dash lights ,dome light and ignition key light come on. after the door is closed they stay on for a few seconds before shutting themselves off.

Actually, I did not wait for it to heat up and do that, I honestly forgot. I will do that later today and see what happens. The lights did not turn off when the door closed, but I only waited like 30 seconds so I'll try again. I ordered a cheap one from Jegs just incase the NOS one was faulty, so I will try that as well when it arrives.
I will report back what happens.

Good news!
I ended up ordering a relay from Jegs, which never came, but I was able to order a relay at Advance, which my dad and I picked up yesterday morning. After Church and some family visits, we finally had a chance to put it in. After putting it in, the lights stayed on for about 30 seconds, and then turned off.
Therefore, with that working and all my other lights and accessories working, I have no more electrical troubles on my New Yorker.
Thank you guys for all of your help and advise, and I will update you all if any electrical problems come up in the future.
