I love my RAM 2500 Diesel MegaCab (BIG RIG) more than I could ever imagine... I had a new wheel bearing assembly/ shocks put in yesterday...She's wearing her "front bib" I call it...-16 degrees right now.

I can't stop admiring them all (RAM 2500/3500's) when I see them daily on the road or out and about...or...
When I get the right size trailer I think it will be the perfect set up for hauling to car shows.

I have a 3500 with a 30' gooseneck full tilt trailer. This combo is awesome. Ive hauled my 25000b tele handler, 20' cargo containers, 26' airstream, and even my '67 newport when i brought her home -All of these on the gooseneck.
 
When your warranty is up, do yourself a favor and get the DPF and all the pollution control idiocy off that engine. You will see incredible horse power increase, less maintenance costs, less "rolling coal", a huge mpg increase, but most of all, you will have a dependable truck. At -100K my 09 3500 kept breaking down and the dealership charged me thousands to boil out certain exhaust components and reinstall them. This happened 3 times. Once pulling a car to a car show not 60 miles from me. The last time it broke down I called these guys.6.7L Cummins DPF Delete Kit - DieselPowerUp. Dealership installed the kit. I have 180K on it now, no problems, and it runs like a raped ape. The unbridled power of a Cummins Engine is an amazing thing. If I ever need to buy a new one, damn the warranty, I am getting it converted out of the gate.
 
I'm pleased with my 1/2 ton ....eventually I will have to get a 3/4 ton when I end up needing to haul heavier loads. As it is, the 5.9 360 and 3.55 gears on both ends drag the trailer and cargo a long no problem..

The DPF delete kits for trucks built before 2013 are well worth the effort to wake up the Cummins however the DEF delete kits are far more involved for the newer trucks. You have lots of warranty on that truck so don’t jeopardize it by doing mods until its up, just my opinion.

I value your opinion, however, with my experience with Chrysler and their warranties, I guarantee you the positives out weigh the negatives and I firmly stand by my statement that it will be converted when it leaves the lot. I never suggested anyone jeopardize their warranty.

It is unfortunate that we can’t make these engines operate at their optimum efficiency without voiding warranties but I have seen my share of $25000 engine jobs not covered by warranty because someone chipped their truck to make it run better. FCA will use any excuse to not pay for a repair. I respect those that do juice up their Cummins for the increased mileage and power but don’t expect FCA to be there if/when something blows up.

Don't expect them to be there for any kind of warranty work. When the truck was newer I had to pay for a failed shock absorber that ruined a spring, destroyed a stabilizer shock, and almost sent me over a cliff pulling a 1955 chevy. Dealership said there was no problem. This was known as the "Death Wobble". I even had a video from inside the truck when it happened on another occasion. Kept denying there was a problem so I had to eat it and fix it. No confidence in Chrysler warranties.

I dont have any pics of my New Yorker on the trailer as it hasnt been towed yet (knock on wood) but I had to tow one of my dodges to the exhaust shop one day.

I bought a '14 2500 reg cab with the cummins. I loved that damned truck and really wish I still had it (a very tall Maple tree took that one away).

Theres a '16 3500 reg cab non dually that's going to come up in the spring .... I don't know how I'd swing it but I'm likely to try.
 
Here's my rig. Not new but has proven itself over and over again. From a 12k pound 5th wheel to numerous Chryslers and Imperials it has done the job.

The Mega Cab is a four-door crew cab available only on Ram Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 trucks that goes beyond what a crew cab offers by extending the cab length 11.1 inches. Ram claims the Mega Cab offers 9.1 cubic feet of storage capacity, compared with 3.4 cubic feet in a crew cab — with roughly 5.7 cubic feet of that additional space coming from the behind-the-rear-seat storage. Besides the increased storage space, there are the reclining rear seats, making a Ram with a Mega Cab a great choice for people who need to take a large truck on a long-haul trip — traveling work crews, for example, or a family towing a camper around the country.

There is a cost to the Mega Cab, however, and not just in the $1,500 price increase. Mega Cab trucks are only available in 4x4 configurations and only with the 6-foot, 4-inch bed. Other cab styles can choose between 4x2 and 4x4 and an 8-foot-long bed.

Just for looks I insist on the 8ft bed. There are companies that do a conversion, Mega cab with the 8ft bed and even approved by Chrysler. The mega isn't that important to me but its gotta be nice to have when needed.

Worst thing for any turbo engine is restriction in the exhaust and shutting them off without a minute or two of cool down. So putting any restriction in the exhaust is only going to hurt your life of the turbo.

I do, family is not that big to warrant that much ugly including the dogs.
I've been down that road " I'll just ride with you guys" no go get your own vehicle I'm not running a bus service. I stopped packing vehicles full of people when I got a job and out of my teens.
 
No matter what Dave, I still think they are ugly. Extended, crew are okay, that mega is just ugly, like a fat guy with a little head and skinny legs.
