Hello,

if it´s right what I heard the normal non GT Sport Fury had a Trunk Emblem ("sport fury") next to the medaillon.

Somebody may confirm that or even has one up for sale?

Thanks,

Fabian

Beautiful car. Looks like my old 70 Sport Fury. Wish I could find it somewhere. Fk5, 383, black vinyl, buckets w/ console, etc...
Amazing that we look back, wishing and longing we could get our old cars back again, but never do so with our ex-wives? Strange...

This is what came on '71 Sport Fury's & GT's. Very small in size and they are adhesive backed. The adhesive just didn't last long in many cases and the emblem/nameplates fell off. Extremely hard to find. Someone should reproduce these, maybe even in plastic.

Hello Fabian,

maybe you remember Homberg / Efze, the part is missing at my car too.
I'm looking for the piece since I'm driving the car. The only thing I found is the part FURYGT posted, but the shipping costs to Germany are totally insane for such a small piece

So its still for sale now...

Joerg

Shipping costs are insane because of ebay world wide shipping. I didn't find out yet why it varies from item to item in such a way but when you pay the money transfers to eBay and not to the seller He just gets the asking price plus a minor shipping fee.
best thing to do is message the seller. Tell him the story, offer the asking price plus 20$ shipping and you got yourself a deal

Thanks for this good tip Marv. I tried that, let's see what happens...

This eBay item good easily ship in an envelope. I agree with Marv. I believe that the seller is a member of this forum. If this seller does not offer eBay International Shipping as an option, ask them to add it to the listing. With eBay international shipping, eBay has the seller ship it to a distribution center (I think it is DHL) and then the shipping center forwards the package out of the country to the buyer. It is usually significantly less than USPS Priority Mail Shipping.

I wonder how this piece can be restored. I don't think it is usable in it's current condition or it would have sold long ago. Has anyone here had a similar type of emblem restored?

Hey Joerg :) natürlich erinnere ich mich!

I don´t know why, but I didn´t get any updates of new replies so I thought nobody answered! :D SO I missed the link but yesterday I talked to a buddy from Wisconsin and he bought the Sport Fury emblem. So bad luck for me but happy for him because he helped me out hundreds of times. Meanwhile I could remember the look of the "sport" part and looked in some piles of stuff when I first cleaned up the car and HEY what did I find?! At least the "sport" part. So I am gonna put this back on and be happy to have at least this original single piece. :) And maybe one day I am lucky enough that the alerts work on this side and I am the quickest to follow the link ! :D

I am actually in the process of reproducing these. Give me a couple of months. I just found a set on ebay. This month @70 Sport Suburban just got a set as well

Hello Rob,

good idear to reproduce these rare parts, that was my though too, but I couldn't get the originals. So, if you finished the job, you got a "new customer". I am also ivery nterested in the "Sport Fury" signs for my '71.
