My new ‘64 Crown Coupe

I did sit in that front seat and it was like sitting on a concrete park bench.
Power windows, vents, door locks, trunk release, seats, antenna, ac, beam changer, auto pilot, tilt, passenger mirror, rr speaker reverb, etc..

Glad to see it get into the right hands. Talk about loaded, even r-e-v-e-r-b, my favorite! I think reverb had a separate knob mounted at the bottom of the dash then...………. congrats.

very nice, where do you start? Any chance it will run? FYI sales rose 65% in 1964

It does run. For starters I’m planning on doing whatever it needs to turn it into a driver and then assess my options from there.

Very cool - I didn't see the reverb "box" (we call it a tank in the music biz), which is usually located on the trunk side of the rear seat back/trunk divider panel, or under the package tray. Perhaps on Imps of that vintage it's located somewhere else.

If the car has reverb, it has a rear seat speaker and the rear seat speaker control knob, in addition to twisting left or right to control the blend of the rear speaker to front speaker, also pulls downwards to engage the reverb and blend the amount in by twisting.

It’s inside the trunk just behind the taillights but covered by the trunk carpet so it’s not in sight.

It's easy to see why you couldn't pass on it, what a great car! Strange that the passenger seat is in worse shape than the drivers, it's usually the other way around. Was there a journey involved in acquiring it?

Not really, it was offered up to a very limited group and I guess I was the one fortunate enough to see it first and snap it up. The gentleman that I got it from was very generous and really stoked that it was going to someone who really appreciated it and I’m honored to be the one to make sure that it will see the road again.:)
It looks like Phil Rauch sold/leased it to a leasing company in Burbank for almost a year before selling it to L.W. Rosine in December of ‘64.
I have pretty complete service records for it including a new trans at 94K miles in December of ‘68.

Now that's a killer car to score. That's an excellent candidate for a total restore. It appears to be a complete car w/ no missing trim. A running engine is big plus, is it # matching. Another big score. Congrats.

I hate to say it, Matt, but I am an honest man, for good or bad. I like this one over your '67. This car could be effing gorgeous.

You are entitled to your opinion no matter how blasphemous.

Data tag has an impressive number of codes!:)

Mine isn't nearly as well equipped as yours and I have the M8Q turquoise cloth interior. Yours is truly the "Brochure Car". I think Silver Turquoise is a great 60s color that looks good even today, so I hope you take yours back to KK-1 if you go that far.
According to the decoding genius CEJ7034, the 5 in the Z position is Black Vinyl Top, so yours might have originally had one. Do you see any evidence that a vinyl top was once on the car before the silver repaint?

It definitely had a black vinyl top which I’m sure disintegrated in the California desert.

I've seen the '67 with my eyeballs......

I dont think anyone would want something else.

It's an awesome car. It's even more awesome that you have the history to go with it. We are only stewards of these vehicles. Caretakers who who can enjoy them until the next person can pick-up the baton.
