Here's what I got to be a parts car, that's probably not going to happen. This car is very solid, coming out of the Seattle area. The plates that came with it look to have been issued in 2001, and last registered in 2004 or 2005, it's been off the road for a long time.

Pictures from the ad.

And pictures from the seller.

I went over the car a little, lubed a door hinge that was sticking, found out the driver's window is not properly secured, found the driver's door panel in the trunk with a bunch of trim, the air cleaner and gas tank that was removed. A small gas can looks to be hooked up for moving the car around.

I did remove the fan and turned the engine over by hand, it soun freely, had some decent resistance. I was told it didn't turn over, the seller must have thought I meant with a key.

I need to find a spare ignition cylinder with keys so I can see what electrical items work and don't, but I need to fix the battery cables or get replacements.

The tail lights are mostly crap, driver's side is better than the passenger side, they have a lot of pitting and the small trim is bad. Inner driver's lens is cracked, the rest might polish up decent. Outer driver's looks pretty decent compared to the rest.

Windows need adjusting as mentioned.

It has helper springs on it, so I'll check into that.

The goal is to get it running and on the road. I'll have to get it titled, so I'm not going to focus on it a lot, I'll be focusing on the car it was supposed to help and donate body panels to, the Canadian four speed car. Good thing I have another Monaco 500 to donate those parts, sad at the same time, but this car here needs way less work to get to the same place. And it is just like the car in the advertisement that hooked me.

Interior is in decent shape, sure the front seats have some tears, but aside from that, they look nice.

The wicker is in better shape than the other Monaco 500 I have, still not perfect but not as dark either.

Need to get a dumpster for the crap in my garage, and the insulation from the headliner, ick. I'll pull that out tomorrow and vacuum the rear seat, but it looks decent from what I can tell.

So glad this was in the trunk. I hope it cleans up well.

I need to fix the parking brake, I think the transport driver set it, it was set when I got it, pulled it off with my truck, and pulled it into the yard and driveway to get it out of the alley. Glad I live in a small town, and nobody cares.

Maybe it can move under its own power, straight into the driveway. If not, the neighbors are always willing to help.

One couldn't ask for a straighter grille, front bumper and hood trim.

One of the coolest looking speedo / instrument clusters ever. The bucket seats and console just add to the cool factor. Car looks really solid.

Interior will clean up pretty decent, I like the console and tach. Those seats are comfy to sit it.

Driver's seat felt pretty good for the brief time I was in it.

Lol - that turquoise car is my first 66 Monaco - I sold it about 10 years ago. Skirts are a personal thing with people - on a car that had them as an option and didn't need them, some like them, others don't.

FWIW, the front bumper on your car looks to have been "straightened" or it got punted at some point - but since it's got no major dents, it may have be rechromed, and someone got overzealous with the press... It should curve ever so slightly to match the profile of the grille. Here's my car with a correct front bumper, and yours below it. You can see the difference.

Your car is excellent - power windows, AC, very nice options!

I dunno - while the USA market deep dish spinner wheel covers also used on Chargers were truly excellent, the Canadian market Sport Fury wheel covers (with Canada only Dodge centres) were nice, but didn't do it for me.

While technically incorrect for a 66 (since they came out as an option in 67), the chromie magnum 500 has it all for me.

To each their own! That's what I love about this hobby!

I always thought the wicker accents on these was so cool...

You may need to take a basket weaving course at your local community college.

(In reference to your wicker seat backs)
