Hey Guys

havent posted in a good long while but lots going on with the car so thats whats its really all about, right?

anyways, does anyone know a hood vendor that does our era hoods in glass (or....) ? Specifically 65 dodge monaco.

West coast preferred just for shipping, but realizing might not be able to be choosey.

and if so, Ill have a clean stock hood (with stock hinges and torsions) available if anyone is interested

thanks in advance

Good luck. A member here found a shop to make him a hood, as long as he filled a ten piece order to do so. It was for a Fury I believe, so there was some demand, but you're going to have better luck selling milk to a dairy farmer than finding nine others who want a fiberglass hood for their '65 Monaco. I hope you can get one, I'd take one for my '66 Polara if they were available.

Might try one of the million custom shops out here on the west coast. They do wonders with carbon fiber. I’ve seen whole cars built out of that stuff. I bet you turn over your hood to one of these magicians and they’ll get one done quicker than you’d think possible. Too bad GNRS is so far off but the same crowd of builders is usually at the Father’s Day show at Pomona. That’s your best bet because it’s one stop shopping for your builder.

I didn’t say it’s gonna be cheap LoL!!!

I try to do everything as cheap as possible but not everyone does...

I have about $5k in my 69 convertible and it shows. It’s a fun knock around you can sit on at the drive in.

This is our ‘55 we got out of Vegas a million years ago. It was the hells angels club drag car out of Colorado. L88 powered but soon to be new crate Cadillac powered bout 450 horse or so. Anyways I’m getting off track - this critter will be about $130 to $140k when it’s all said and done. Space age under old school it’ll even have a bench seat. We kept the 60’s louvered hood instead of a carbon fiber one with some zoomy scoop because it fits the 60’s vibe. A couple grand for the carbon hood wouldn’t even dent the budget LOL!
My brother not married and no kids has unlimited funds.

Thanks for the advice guys. I figured a one off might be the only way but will probably be cost prohibitive in this build at this time anyway. was hoping not. Or maybe that there were other year range(s) or models that had same or close hoods that were being built.
I found a 65 polara hood that seems to be popular but doesn’t look close enough. I guess I’ll just good hood less until my numbers hit in the lottery.
