Anyone have a good lead on a solid transmission shop in Portland, OR?

'65 Chrysler 300 383 3spd automatic

Just looking to have it serviced. No idea when it's been done last.
Has a good slap when shifting to second. And reverse is real weak. Much better when it's been running a while, but still there.

Put in neutral before going into gear will help it work better.

blais doesn’t work on your car, he builds trannies that your bring in. Or he did, he is getting into his 70’s and I heard wanted to retire.

True enough, but if anyone knows of a reputable shop in the OP's area, he'd know I would think. Certainly would be full of good advice as well.

Not yet but they were a small shop in aloha and lots of the local cruise in people used them. I drove by ther a lot and they always had a lot of different classics there. They also used to host a hot rod thing....

I'm saying "used to" because they moved into a bigger building in hillsboro.

Dang. Hillsboro is a bit of a haul from me in North Portland. But will give them a call. Thanks for the reco.

There is a A-1 Performance trans, formerly in Cal, now in Vancouver WA. Same deal as Blais, you would have to bring your core to them for rebuild.

For any other leads on a good Transmission shop in Portland, OR?

Looking for good service and not a rebuild (hopefully).
