time to get a new chainsaw when my stimulus check comes. looking at still farmboss, husqvarna rancher or an echo. who has had the best of luck with theirs?

I too will be buying a new chainsaw within a month. I am only looking at the Stihl. I've had other brands of yard junk and used plenty of others on the job. My experiences are that the Stihl tools are that much better than others.
I have a high end Stihl backpack blower and a weedwacker . Dynamite yard tools.
A Stihl saw is next.

The farnhand is a good saw, we use that and smaller stihls at work.
They are all much lighter than my Jonsered 2255 which is a beast of a saw.

Stihl (1), Echo (2) and Husqvarna (3) will all provide a lifetime of fun and hard work if maintained, I've used them all. Consider access to chains, parts and repair as part of your decision. From experience, newer lighter saws let you work longer hours and enjoy the work without killing yourself.

Stihl farm boss about 30 years old. Been through 2 bars and countless chains. Dropped from 35ft up a tree and ran over when fell off truck When and if I kill this one, going Stihl.

Pay for the Stihl. Seems as they are the only ones that understand how it sucks cold starting a 2 cycle.
Personally, I find it quicker to unroll a 100 footer ext. cord than trying to start them now.

I have a old Mccullough 10-10. Had it rebuilt by the local guy down the road. Still had over 110 psi compression, so he deemed it good and rebuilt the carb and generally tinkered with it. It will wear you out if you have a full day with it. I'll be worn out before it will.

went with a stihl ms271 farm boss. in the back of my mind i knew i was going with the stihl.

Yesterday I purchased the Stihl 251 C.. I didn't want anything that big but comparing to the smaller ones on the shelf I felt I was a good compromise.

I've got several Stihl products, I've never been disappointed. My farm boss is about 10 years old and I can still start it, set it on the ground and it will idle until it's out of fuel. I'm going to pick up a 170 for pruning duties before next year. My Farm Boss is too big and my KombiSystem with the Pole Pruner is too long for close work.
