Attached are two steering wheel pictures. The upper one the wheel my car was built with, the bottom, the wheel Krautmaster put on the car as he's a bigger guy like I am, and the Chrysler wheel is too big of diameter for how deep the steering wheel is for a fat guy like me. Problem is, the wood on the aftermarket wheel is cracking up badly, and I need a new wheel. Any reccomendations that looks decent enough to be in a slab sided ragtop like the wood wheel is?

Perhaps "to keep things in the family", one of the repro/aftermarket Tuff Wheels? I believe you might also be able to find one of the wheels as is currently there, too?

Or you might find one of the high-quality leather "wraps" which lace onto the existing wheel. They used to come in various colors, too! Only thing is that in order to get them laced-on tightly enough, the base diameter of the wheel itself can be an issue on the stock wheel, but possibly not as much on the aftermarket wheel?

OR, you might remove the wood wheel, fill in "the places" with a quality wood filler, possibly re-stain it, and apply several coats of quality polyurethane varnish to keep things smooth and protected. Just like a fine piece of furniture being refinished.

Just some thoughts,

your spokes remind me of the chevy rosewood steering wheels (which are reproduced).

Can't help you, but that's the same Grant wheel I have in my car. I couldn't source the "Chrysler" horn button though...

I have the same wood wheel in my wagon .I bought it from DALES CUDA SHOP @ 330-821-5918 . He had the Plymouth horn ring he may have the CHRYSLER ring he had the adapter also.

Looks good. Source and such?

Thanks,

I got the same wheel (in low gloss) from the same seller. Picked it up myself. Im going to add this center cap and make a custom plymouth emblem for the center. Think woodgrain wheel....
