I honestly think it looks much better and more "sleek" without them. My stepdad was gonna do the same thing when he redid his '67 Fury II 2-door sedan with putting the moldings back on, all his friends he talked to said to leave them off and they are still off today.

My first C-body was a 72 Monaco sedan.

When repainted, I left the side moldings off but, in my case, that was a mistake IMHO.

I've had many many C bodies and just this past weekend bought back one I previously owned. Not the first time I did that although the 68 Fury III 2DHT I owned 2X was GIVEN back to me in exchange for some work done on the guy's 69 Fury. Here we go:
1965 Plymouth Fury III 4DSD
1966 Dodge Monaco 500 2DHT
1966 Dodge Polara 500 convertible
1966 Plymouth Sport Fury 2DHT
1967 Dodge Monaco 500 2DHT
1968 Plymouth Fury III 2DHT 2X owned
1968 Plymouth Fury III 4DSD
1971 Plymouth Fury I 4DSD 2X owned
1971 Plymouth Fury Custom 4DSD
1971 Plymouth Fury III 2DHT
1971 Plymouth Fury III 4DSD X2
1973 Plymouth Fury Gran Sedan 4DHT
1976 Chrysler Newport 2DHT

Those would be good maybe for a C-body calendar next year. Now all ya need is a hot girl in those pics there Wyatt :poke::)

Looks great, so unusual to see an Imp without vinyl top, very slick. Is that where the 254 number comes from or did they make crazy few coupes?

That are the Crown coupe numbers......they made a lot more Lebaron coupes...
