I am trying to find front wheel opening moldings for a 1967 Chrysler Newport Custom 4dr hard top. I think that the part number is 2809 662-3 pkg. I would greatly appreciate any help verifying that the the part number I have is correct, locating the individual part numbers for left and right sides, or finding the moldings.
Thanks in advance for your help

Great web site! Thank you. I was able to confirm that the part number is/was 2809 662-3 for the front wheel opening molding pkg. The package probably includes left & Right moldings and clips or screws. Does anyone know where i could find the individual part numbers for the left and right moldings, the moldings, or the entire package. The car is almost complete but I have not been able to locate the moldings yet.

Good luck searching for NOS-hard to find.
I know that Nigel has a couple 67 Newports in his yard that may have usable moldings.
Give him a shout. Tell him I sent ya!

I think that the part number is 2809 662-3

Assuming that is the right part number, 2809662 is for the right (passenger side) and 2809663 is for the left (driver side). I didn't look up the part number, but I assume that it what you got when you did.

Mopar parts that have a left and right version will have the odd number as the left/driver side and even as right/passenger side. They will often be listed like yours and I think it's done to save space in the parts book. You won't be able to find that 2809662-3 as it's really not a part number, but actually two numbers.

I try to remember it as a Mopar driver is always kind of odd....

Try locating 68 300 front moldings. Same as 67 but with black painted inserts that can be easliy washed off with paint thinners.

There is not much NOS. trim left out there for 67 68 Chryslers....Between Rob Brogle and I we pretty much bought it up over the past 12 years!!!! Lol!!

Thank you to everyone for your assistance. Sometimes I feel like this is a search for the Holy Grail. I will check with Nigel and take a closer look at the 300 moldings.

Are these stainless steel or aluminum?

Stainless can be restored without a lot of drama. It took me a couple years to find decent aluminum wheel well trim for my '70 and it meant buying bits and pieces, complete sets, some traveling and even taking some crap from a couple guys here when I asked about a car that might be parted out. Even then, I had a lot of buffing and straightening. If it had been stainless, it would have been much easier.

Does anyone know the difference between front wheel opening moldings for the 67 Newport 4dr hard top and the 67 Newport Custom 4dr hard top? After looking at some pictures i was wondering if the only difference between the custom and standard is the molding length. I could cut the standard moldings shorter to make them fit if they are the same profile. I am hoping that someone here has some experience with this.

I'm late to this discussion, but you might try AMS Obolete near Atlanta. You wouldn't believe the stuff they have.
