Carlisle 2021

For more than one reason I took the southerly route heading West when moving. Jumping off of the PA pike asap. No Ohio toll, no Indiana toll, no Illinois toll. I was surprised at a toll in Kansas but it was pennies. Colorado not sure why they have tolls , then again they are turning blue.

Where will the 10am Saturday FCBO group photo take place this year? Since it was always done at my car and I won't be there for the first time in 25 years it needs to be determined.
In my opinion someone who has been a staple on FCBO and a long time Carlisle attendee in the likes of Big John or FURYGT should be the guy.

Thoughts?

I will not be bringing a show car this year. I will be bringing a modest amount of parts to sell including voltage regulators and ignition modules. I will be in space J179, which is across from the left rear corner of building T. Look for some lime green tents. I will have '68 Fury parts including NOS wheel opening moldings that are not inexpensive and some '71 Fury parts as well as other C Body parts.

The new owner of the Flying Whale may be bringing it to Carlisle this year. If he does, that might be a good meeting spot as would by Big John's car if he is bringing his Chrysler this year.

I will be staying at the Western Village Campground.

Dave, you will be missed. Stay in touch. God Bless you and your family.

Bill

I'll be there... We can meet by my car.

I’ve noticed the PA folks hate the pike but the rest of us blasting through Ohio and PA it’s like it. In my case I appreciate the maintenance and the lack of local banzai drivers you invariably get near urban areas. Most all vehicles are through travelers and on the whole have decent freeway manners. As opposed to I-75 or I-95 in Florida!

I'll registered at the Homewood Suites again.
Looking forward to July.

I just let the states with tolls send me a bill. The cameras do their job, and I don't have to remember what plazas I zoomed by at speed. I'm sure they love the additional fee from folks like me.
@LocuMob Do you just drive through the prepaid sections?
How much more are the tolls to just run through their faster ez pass sections?

Yep, all traffic was diverted around the cash lanes. I don't know if there was any difference, but there was a surcharge for not paying myself when I got home. I wasn't looking for plaza numbers at speed in traffic.

So, as I don't get out east often at all with the exception of Carlisle I just don't have much experience with tolls.
Do you think I can just run through them now and get my bill later?
Do they prosecute in any way? Or just send me up charged toll fees?
I'd be just fine driving through their ezpay and getting my bigger bill later.

In Ohio many toll booths are under construction. They are going to the license plate camera type gates. As I understand this you need to slow down at these gates but not stop. They send you a bill in mail. With an ez-pass transmitter you just blast through the speed lane without slowing. There is also a pretty decent discount by using the ez-pass transmitter. I live in Michigan and bought my transmitter in Ohio at a service plaza on way to Carlisle a few years back. Has paid for it self many times over.

So has the toll road.
