Hello Mopar People,

I have some new 15 x7 rims for my 68 and was wondering what y'all would advise for the largest reasonable tire size to fit the wheel wells without touching on corners, etc. on non modified rear end/front end etc.

Thanks,
Mike

I was going to say you should spend it on body work until I read your P.S. LOL

Tire size; I have had 255/60/15s and 255/70/15s on 15" x 7" factory steel rims on a 1967 Polara and on a 1969 Imperial. You could probably go a little wider but it is really hard to get them on and off. You would really have to try your specific car and wheel combo but that is about as big as you can go.

My 68 Newport personally came with 215/75/r15 tires, I think it's the perfect balance between size, handling, and aesthetic. Doesn't take too much up of the wheel covers, but isn't as small as r14 tires. If you want bigger though flj's post seems to be truthful.

Original factory size was 8.55-14. Which is 28 inches tall. Thats why I went to 23570R15.
21575R15 are too small.
As I said before in many of these "tire" threads, to each their own since it is personal taste after all.

I have the same combo
The only drawback is that you can’t rotate front to back...
