Someone should study the phenomenon of people painting bumblebee stripes on cars that never had them. Not Imperials, Plymouths or Mustangs; for that idiocy is plainly obvious.

I'm talking about painting a vertical line, 90 degrees from the pavement, even if subject vehicle has a ever-so-prominent feature (like a chrome bumper) that runs at a forward angle. Any sane person would at least follow this with a parallel line. And were there a lot of muscle-era Dodges that placed the stripe 12-18" away from the end of the car? Because most of the original examples I've seen are pretty damn close to the end of said car.

The reason I'm asking for the study is because I'm pretty sure these folk are responsible for a lot of societal ills. Like reality shows or McRib sandwiches.

All correct statements and yet, someone is proud of that stripe ...

That's what happens when you have an idiot lantern in the garage! I was wondering why the back window trim was blacked out. Then realized the car originally had a vinyl roof, with the fiberglass plug insert, I'm guessing there's about a half gallon at least, of body filler around it. And yes, the stripe looks like shite!

A little perplexed on the idiot lantern, I was leaning towards the household ceiling fan/light but... so googly googly, many results came up with a Dr Who.. so more confusion, but wait Urban Dictionary leads too BoobTube aka TV. Am I right and is there some kind of prize involved?

The real question is what are all the trophies on the top shelf for? It couldn't possibly be for this car could it?

I also wonder if the person that owns this car will ever find this post in a googly googly search and reads this tripe <ducks>

It's never stopped me before.

No butt stripes on a C-body. Please stop this horrible "improvement". That car, nice as it might otherwise be, should be disinfected with fire.

Oh, that is ugly!

When first looking at that stripe, I can't help that my eyes are drawn to the rear window. It looks to me that either there's a plug in there similar to the ones found on Imperials or there's been a bunch of metalwork and filler applied back there.
....Oh wait! That is an Imperial.:realcrazy: Ugh.

Yup. A stripe on an Imperial. Took me a few seconds looking at the car to see that, too. Gotta wonder WTF goes on in some people's minds.

Honestly, it would be a halfway-decent looking car if the owner ripped that damned stripe off the car. I could live with the rear window looking like it does; and an Imperial doesn't look all that bad, minus the vinyl top.
