Hi,
I have an issue i need to solve quickly.
I was driving along a freeway a couple of weeks ago and whilst traveling at speed the right fender skirt (spat) decided to come off the car and slide down the road badly damaging the paint on the spat, luckily no dents bus badly scratched up.
I checked the fender skirts before i left and they were on correct, locked in and could not move them once in place.
I had the fender skirts back on and have travelled around another 500km on all kinds of roads with no issues, the yesterday while on the highway it came off again, more damage but not bent,
Why does the right one keep coming off, i have driven this car for over a year before it came off first time ?
I refitted it yesterday and again it seems to go on and lock in as it should, i am not driving it with it on until i find out why it keeps falling off.
Any help much appreciated.

Are the 3 or 4 locating pins still on it? I absolutely could not imagine how a skirt that was fully in tact could just fall off. I have to lean into the levers on all mine to lock them in. Are the rubber(?) spacers still on them?
I may have extra skirts available.

Post some photos of the wheel opening showing the pins and another showing the position of the locking lever with the skirt installed.

Hi, all the pins are there and go into the holes, lock lever pushes up and locks in over the tab, and it is locking in at other end of lever at top of wheel opening.
So to me it all seems fine, the lever must be gradually lifting its way up maybe through vibration when driving ??
Gavin.

You're driving on the wrong side of the road! :steering:

Sorry, I'm no help at all. :D

The lever should be pushed up and then lowered onto the lip on the skirt. There should be a fair amount of tension on the lever and it should be hard to push up. If it is not hard to push up something is wrong with the spring like mechanism. Again, photos would help to make sure the installation is correct.

I have them on my dart and the top of the fender well lip kind of slanted down where the handle locks to and it happened to me just worth the look.
