Does anyone have a good lead on exterior molding clips for a 68 sport Fury? In particular I am needing the clips for the sport Fury trunk molding. Thanks in advance.

There are so many clips out there, if you have a picture with a ruler that will help. I would check out this place and he might have a unverisal clip that might work if he doesn't have an original.

Are you talking about the clips that hold the finish panel on the trunk lid?

Thanks for the reply. I will see about getting one of them off hopefully without damaging anymore and get some measurements. I am going to say it’s roughly 3-4” but will get better measurement and see what I can come up with on it. Thanks for the help!

Yes the finish panel across the rear deck lid in between the tail lights. Thanks for any leads you may have.

Those clips are specific to '68 Furys (Fury III, Sport Fury & VIP) and they became brittle with age. The clip is rounded to fit the curve in the deck lid behind the tail lamps. The ends of the clip that slide into the top and bottom of the trunk finish panel are very thin and fragile. Chrysler actually issued a technical service bulletin at some point instructing dealers to pop rivet the ends of the finish panel to the ends of the tail lamps that are mounted in the trunk lid.

I would carefully remove your clips and pop rivet pieces of old credit cards or of thin metal onto the ends of what is left of your clips to make you clips usable since the part that usually breaks is the thin tab at the top and bottom of the clip that slides into the back side of the trunk finish panel. FYI, there are studs with nuts that secure these clips to the finish panel that are accessible from holes inside the trunk lid. Suggest spraying the nuts with a penetrating oil before trying to remove the clips. I hope that his helps as finding these clips in usable condition is very difficult.

Bill it sounds like you know this clip well, would you think it might be a clip to replicate? Is it basically a plastic clip with a steel shaft.

Yes, There is a demand for these clips. I could probably find a good one to loan you.

Let figure something out, I will send you a PM or email. There is a new wrinkle however, that I just discovered this week.

Thanks for all the info! This is really good stuff! Let’s hope we can get a ball rolling on some reproduction stuff! Thanks again for all the help!

I still need to see the clip but it sounds like I could replicate it. Sounds like @FURYGT might have a good one. Then I can make a mold of it and replicated.

I have one problem the materials I used to make the end product are not available currently. One of the raw products used in making their products is refined in Texas and that plant is still not up and running from the power outage this winter.

The good news is I can still make a mold for it, but the clip material is sold out nationwide.

Update, I have some material that I used a year ago to make a record and I only opened the container once. I am hoping it is still good, because this would be the best product for this longer clip.

+1 over here needing those retainers for a 68 Fury III.
I was thinking about a 3D print but no chance without a sample.
I‘m located in Germany. Any local folks have a good piece?

Additionally, I‘m looking for the emblem.
Bought one on eBay but it was too large. Seems to be a 66 or 67 fender Emblem. If anybody needs one… pretty good condition.

I am going through my parts inventory trying to find a good plastic finish panel retainer clip.

I will also keep an eye out for a Fury III emblem for a '68 Fury III finish panel. They are two pieces as I recall.
