Used Car Prices

Both are nice cars. Different beasts though: I’d suggest that you rent each for a couple of days. You can’t rent a 392, but you should be able to reserve a 5.7, on the Charger with Hertz. I did that a couple if years ago — it was an eye (well, ear) opener for me re: noise. Loved the looks, seats, and grunt — but not the constant roar. The 300 ought to be much quieter if you can live without the 6.4. Also AWD might be a plus where you live.

I have an '18 300S Hemi, VERY quiet, power-o-plenty, will cruise @ 125 MPH (summer tire option comes w/hi speed engine controller) with no drama at all. I quit at 125 because things were coming faster than I was comfortable with. No AWD with V8 engines anymore.

Hey Rip, add a zero to the end and we have a deal! :poke:

Be careful throwing out numbers like that. One of my friends sold himself short one night doing that. About $5k short, then he had to find a replacement. He was mad for months after he figured out what he had done. Here, for $26K that truck would be gone in days.

2wd = a lot
4wd = a lot more
Cummins + fresh paint = name your price. :D
the number 1 theft truck heading to Mexico? Ram Diesel
but any truck in arizona is a good commodity. Up north really though 2wd models are not in demand like any 4wd.
heck I am no dummy, in 2013 I bought my brothers 1996 club cab 360 4WD
While he was alive. he bought it new, and was a Maricopa deputy(Phoenix) for 32 years before cancer got him. So his truck lives on up in Nebraska. It still sit winters in the garage.
It is a Walker Texas Ranger truck!

I think you would like the Edge Sport: paddle shifters, twin turbos and AWD - plus all the new technology - some of which you can turn off. I've driven mine on a few long trips from Maryland to NY state, etc., and the seat for me was no problem.
Going to stop and look at them Monday. They have a 2019 that just came off lease that was owned by a local guy with real low miles I'm going to look at and then maybe the new stuff.

I bought my Mercury from the salesman, and he's a personal friend of my son. Super laid back, low pressure salesman that does very well at that dealership (20 years there). We'll see what happens.

Ended up buying the 2019 Edge. It checked all the boxes and the price was right without a lot of dickering. Remaining factory warranties of bumper to bumper until February of next year and powertrain until February of 2024.

My Mercury really didn't fit in the deal though... So we're going to sell that ourselves. Anyone looking for a really nice Grand Marquis?

Congrats John! Enjoy the new car in good health, and GLWS.

Problem with Fords is the wheel lip rust before you know it. I hardly see one 3 or 4 years old without rust bubbling through the paint. My wife drives a ‘10 VW Tiguan approaching 165k miles and 0 rust anywhere. Must not be metal. Great car though!

The Edge is a very good vehicle. Does yours have an Ecoboost power plant?
Congratulations!

I didn't take a single picture... and honestly, the car was so fresh on the lot that it hadn't been detailed yet, but it was still really clean, although covered in pollen. They are supposed to detail it and take a small door ding out in the next couple days. I gotta run some hundreds through the copier to pay for it, so everything will probably come together by the end of the week.
