    65 300 Brake Booster

Hey @Jack Ryan - why the disagree on my post? I learned something from the answer you'd posted previously, and I always like learning, so I said so! :) Fill me in on what was disagreeable.

    66 Newport Disc Brake Kit

Thanks for the bolstering of my spirits, @Ripinator - however, it must be noted that I am only one of quite a few experts on the upgrade here on this site. @Blackrifle - many of us here are of the opinion that the best route to take in a disc brake upgrade is to go with factory engineered...

Added the Auto Pilot Linkage...now what?

Excellent news! Yes to your 1st question, and yes, set the speed on the dial, pull the switch out and accellerate to speed. If the servo is working OK, then you should feel it take over.

Added the Auto Pilot Linkage...now what?

Always happy to help! @detmatt may have insight here. Just to clarify - on my car, there is no appreciable extra resistance from normal in pressing the gas pedal with the auto pilot on or off (not engaged) until the car reaches the preset speed on the dash dial. By design that is the speed...

    1965 Monaco Tach Drive

That's what we're here for! There are even tach retrofits if your original tach isn't working - uses the same faceplate, and uses all modern processing gear - just hook up to the coil and some 12V power and you're good to go, and no one knows the difference. I love my console tach, and the...

    1965 Monaco Tach Drive

No, it uses an ignition-based system. Originally it was sent to a processor that was a flat brass-coloured can that sat under the console lid. Now there are reproductions that are digital. Not a tach drive system.

'48 Crown Imp Limo - hyd. windows line leak and oil pressure line leak

There is a friend of mine (Greg Biskey) in the WPC Club who has a 48 Town Sedan special order custom he just purchased. It was a Chrysler factory custom build for Fred Zeder a Chrysler executive at the time. The car is a beauty, and is a one-off. The car is a survivor, and also needs...

Rear A/C for 1969 T&C Wagon - Dealer Ad on Option and Use of R290 Refrigerant

You said: "The blue colored wire from the time delay to the compressor is missing, so I have to fabricate that and determine if the clutch is still operational on the compressor. I did not want to run the compressor on an empty system." It's easy to test the clutch, but if there's no...

    Another Disc brake question.

    Yeah - that's a drum brake booster.

    Another Disc brake question.

There have been a number of similar statements - and it boils down to "factory engineering is best" for these braking systems hands down - at least, that's my opinion. Others may differ, and it's their right to disagree. When you say your 68 has a Midland booster with a disc conversion - is...

Rear A/C for 1969 T&C Wagon - Dealer Ad on Option and Use of R290 Refrigerant

In my 66 T&C with factory Rear AC, the rear circuit's freon lines are connected directly to the front circuit's freon lines by splitters near the firewall. The blower fan for the Rear AC are independently controlled by a switch on the dash, and can be on or off whether the front HVAC system's...

    Another Disc brake question.

Absolutely, I agree. Municipal, state/provincial laws aside re licensing, it's based on common sense.

    Another Disc brake question.

Yup, use the disc booster, 1000% for the reasons above, PLUS this: If for some reason you're involved in an accident where a serious injury or death occurs, and in the investigation to determine why, and it's determined that you did the work on your car (as an unlicensed mechanic), and...

    1966 windsor 383 engine color

Paul, Canadian made cars all had red engines in those years, regardless of size. USA made cars had turquoise big blocks. That's why your wagon's engine is turquoise, but my Monaco's engine is red.

    1966 windsor 383 engine color

In Canada, for vehicles assembled in Windsor, ON in 1966, most of the engine and its accessories were assembled prior to being painted - so power steering, pulleys, fan spacer and pulleys were all red. Sometimes the fan itself was also engine colour. However, the air cleaner and alternator...
