    Windshield Seal leaks when raining

thanks everyone for the responses. For now, since I don't want to go down the rust rabbit hole, I'm going to keep it covered and not expose it to rain. Once I locate a competent installer, I'll take the plunge and see what lies beneath the surface. The gasket looks original to me - very old...

    Windshield Seal leaks when raining

Hi The windshield on my '66 Newport leaks at the bottom when it is raining. I get little pools of water at the seal where it meets the dash pad. Not a lot, but enough to drip down and potentially ruin the carpet (again). I'm worried about the windshield breaking when removing it to replace...

    WANTED Stromberg WWC 3-262 carb

Thank you! An amazing amount of info and experience. I will look carefully into this when I rebuild my WWC. . The carb I got from Ed hasn't been on a car in a very long time, so perhaps it's not warped at all. I'll know more when I have it torn apart. Thanks again.

    WANTED Stromberg WWC 3-262 carb

Is this something that could be mitigated by "double gasketing" the air horn?

Aftermarket muffler close in sound/db as OEM

I'm curious - were our C-Bodies "quiet" when new, as compared to say the more performance oriented cars of the time? I'm thinking specifically about Slab Bodies, but any answer is appreciated. I can't imagine a New Yorker sounding like a GTO or Corvette of the day. Is there an aftermarket...

66 Newport Backup Light Housing removal

I got the lens out, just took a bit of gentle persuasion with a plastic trim tool. I'll leave the housing in for now since I was able to get the burned out bulb out without issue and I don't want to mess with the housing bolts/nuts. Case closed, thanks!

66 Newport Backup Light Housing removal

I'm trying to remove the backup light housings so I can clean them up, replace the bulbs, etc. I removed the two screws that go through the lens, and the assembly kind of moves around, but the lens won't come off, and the housing won't come out either. Not wanting to break something while...

original carb is missing - what should it have been?

CBODY67 would a generic WWC work? One without the model number? I’m thinking it wouldn’t have the correct Mopar linkages…

original carb is missing - what should it have been?

I think so - does it say WWC on the side? Perhaps 3-262 as well?

    WANTED Stromberg WWC 3-262 carb

Thank you! I appreciate your input. If I change to a 4bbl it’s a moot point, but for now I just want something that can be rebuilt and tuned, as what I have now is in poor shape.

    WANTED Stromberg WWC 3-262 carb

Looking for 2V carb for '66 383. FSM says it should be a WWC 3-262. Looking for something in rebuildable condition, not a core for misc. parts. thanks!

original carb is missing - what should it have been?

Thank you. I identified the carb I currently have - it's a Carter BBD for a Dodge truck . . . I was trying to find a rebuild kit for it, but couldn't. The FSM says I should have the Stromberg WWC 3-262, so I guess I'm on a quest for one of those . . . or go the Edelbrock Thunder 650 with an...

    Radio Adapter

sound quality is largely a function of the speakers - replace the old speakers with new ones of better quality and that will help a lot.
