Wrong brake booster? Holes dont line up

1971 and newer cars came equipped with a large diameter, single diaphragm booster with disc brakes, which can be used on earlier cars. The dual diaphragm booster is needed on slab cars to clear the shift linkage on the column. The booster in question is the '71 and up disc booster. Since his...

    Rubber isolated stub frames interchange

Chrysler and Dodge had longer torsion bars than Plymouth. If you compare your stub frames, you'll see that the bars on the Chrysler protrude out of the back of the rear crossmember a couple inches more. As long as you swap the Chrysler bars into the Plymouth too, everything will fit. You'll...

    1971 Sport Fury GT

I'm glad to see that it went to a good home. It's really not the right car for what I want to do. Being a pretty rare car in an oddball color combination, it should be restored to how it left the factory. I had my mind set on a dark blue car, and even a Fury III would fit the bill, as I...

    1971 Sport Fury GT

Other than local Facebook stuff, I haven't been keeping an eye on the C body market for at least 5 years now, so I have no idea how often top dog cars are coming up for sale. As luck will have it, when something comes up that interests you, it'll be over here in PA or Jersey. Jeff

    1971 Sport Fury GT

I think I have a pic of the tag too, but can't find it right now. This one is the only one I can find. No question that it's the same car. This was taken back in 2010, which is when I found out about it. Jeff

    1971 Sport Fury GT

Nothing was ever offered to the general public. I never got the full story, but I think someone became friends with the family and bought some of the more desirable cars out of the collection. I thought I had an opportunity for a connection to them through a friend, but it never...

    1971 Sport Fury GT

I think it's the silver car with burnt orange interior that came out of the big Mopar collection in Utah a little while back. Jeff

Oh no I bought another one 1970 Newport Convertible

It may be ratty, but looks to be a rock solid car. You really can't go wrong with such a rust free car, especially if you got it for a bargain price. Jeff

    NOS Fuselage windshield find

Great Find! LOF was the OEM glass supplier to General Motors for decades. I believe they were bought out by Pilkington Glass some time in the last 15 to 20 years. Jeff

    Shared roof skin.

1972 cars in the above chart will also interchange with your '73, but as Wyatt mentioned you have to be wary of the 1972 Formal coupes. They have a 29 designation in the VIN, and share a roof skin with the 4 door cars. The formal coupe body was dropped for 1973. Jeff

Wrong brake booster? Holes dont line up

When you say that you "gave away" your original booster, do you mean that you sent it out to be rebuilt and it will be back in a month or so? Or did you actually give it away, and it's gone for good? If it's gone, and you have nothing, you could use the large, single diaphragm booster for...

Wrong brake booster? Holes dont line up

The booster in your photo's is newer. Appears to be for an Aspen/Volare, along with the various later B body based cars. Jeff

Rear Screen for 1973 Chrysler New Yorker 2 dr Hardtop

The Imperial rear glass is different from Chrysler, both 4 door and coupe. '72-'73 Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth coupes all shared glass, except the '72 Plymouth Formal coupes, which used the 4 door HT rear glass. Jeff

    Imperial cross compatibility

Some 73's came with the new style switch on the stalk, but you should be able to substitute the older style. The underhood unit should be the same, though the speedo drive cables could possibly be slightly longer on the Imperial. Jeff

    Imperial cross compatibility

Assuming they are both hardtops, the windshield is the same. The quarter glass is not. You didn't mention that they were different year cars. Roofs and some of the glass was changed in '72. Some side glass was changed in '71 due to changes made to the window regulators, even though the body...

1972 fury 3 2 door side glass interchangability

Be aware that there were two different 2 door roofs used on the Plymouths and the 1/4 glass is different between the two. The formal coupe is it's own beast and doesn't share rear glass with any other car. Jeff
