    How about headers??

I have them on my 71 New Yorker, they are a good fit. You may want to run a small starter for better clearance. If the joints ahead of the H pipe are in the same location for headers as it is for manifolds, you may be able to purchase that section and it could save having to fabricate it.

    Dipstick length

Yes, I read somewhere else before getting the measurement confirmed by you on the B body site. I saw your post 5 minutes after I posted that comment. Thank you for the confirmation and everyone else for all of the feedback.

    Dipstick length

Yes the tube lengths would vary and if you have matched set, there would be no question. Because I do not believe I have a matched set I want to verify I'm at the correct depth. The full mark on the dipstick needs to be a specific distance from the bottom of the block. While I have the pan off I...

    Dipstick length

More capacity but the oil level will be the same distance from the bottom of the block when full. I don't believe dipstick length has anything to do with pan depth. I read somewhere that oil level should to be about 1.5 inches below the bottom of the block when full. Looking for confirmation.

    Dipstick length

Really? Shouldn't the full level be the same regardless of pan depth?

    Dipstick length

Could someone tell me how far the dipstick in a big block should extend past the bottom of the block. I didn't assemble this motor and I suspect it had the wrong dipstick. What makes me think this is that there is a curl at the end of it. I have five other big blocks and none of them have a...

    Dipstick length

No numbers. I think as long as I have a matched dipstick and tube, I should be okay.

    Dipstick length

Maybe the best thing to do is to put the dipstick and tube from the 400 in the 426, then I will for sure have a matched set. I think I'm the dipstick in this whole conversation.

    Dipstick length

Yeah I have a 699 pan and the measurements are pretty close to the Milodon minus the recessed area for steering linkage clearance. I took some oil out. Compared all my dipsticks. Although they are the same length full marks vary. Tried to get a more accurate tube length measurement and looks...

    Dipstick length

The car has a milodon pan on it. I believe it is stock size, it looks like it, but I am not 100% sure of the exact capacity. With just under 6 US quarts in it the oil level is just above the full mark on the longer dipstick (the one I thunk it should be). It shows just under add on the short stick.

    Dipstick length

Understood, as I indicated above The tubes on all 4 apppear to be the same length with small differences in the bends. So logically if all 4 tubes are the same so should the dipsticks be.

    Dipstick length

I was wondering if anyone knows how far below oil pan to block seam should full line on dipstick be. I have 4 old Mopars, 71 New Yorker with 440, 67 Newport with a 383, 64 Polara with a 68 440, and a 63 Dodge 440 with a 426 wedge head. The New Yorker, Newport and Polara all have identical length...
