I would start out by calling MSD and telling them which of their products you have, the brand, and the type of cap and see what they have to say. To my knowledge, the brass contacts are the best for the standard points, rotor, and cap. But you have perhaps a hotter hybrid system.

Same issues with one of my cars. I would suggest as a diagnosis tool to purchase a roll of weatherstripping foam (for home use) for $2 with one side with an adhesive strip. Put the adhesive side onto the existing weatherstrip. This would make it thicker and if it works to prove you need new...

When I purchased a Fury III rear bumper it needed chroming, but that was two decades ago. May I ask how much they want to redo what you have? If no one has one of your liking, is there another chrome facility to get an estimate from?

My '70 Fury III has two separate keys and the round one fits the trunk. If your car was a fleet car (Police etc) perhaps it could have only one key fitting all. I know my trim piece around the key hole is from a 1971 car.
