The Hurst 300 has a more refined design and overall appearance. Right @Trace 300 Hurst. On the other hand I owned a 70 Sports Fury GT, the ultimate sleeper on four wheels. I call it the Hurst 300 by a nose.

    8-10 mpg

Here is my take on improving fuel mileage. Something that has not been addressed her is timing chain slack. Worn timing chains are a key contributor to fuel mileage loss. Also worn camshaft lobes can kill engine efficiency. Second, Differential gear ratio does impact fuel mileage. The difference...

Meet Buttercup, a 1972 New Yorker Brougham 2-door Hardtop

The erosion of the freeze plugs like this is common even if the coolant change interval is adhered to in your maintenance schedule. Note the condition of the cylinder walls in the photos above. The freeze plugs appear to have been replaced many decades ago. Possibly the quality of them degraded...

Meet Buttercup, a 1972 New Yorker Brougham 2-door Hardtop

I only wished my hands were teenie-weenie. When I raised up the front of the car I placed it on jack stands as they were extended to their full limit. I then removed both front tires and disconnected the outter tie rod ends. This gave me easy access to the freeze plugs. Ounce done I left the...

    R134 on top of R12

As far as I know there IS NO DROP IN REFRIGERENT. In my getting my certifications years ago I was told under no circumstances to mix 134A and R12. The properties of each refrigerant are quite different as 134a is more volatile than R12. Simply don't do it. AS for being flammable check the...

    Radiator recommendations

I agree w/ @Snotty, @FURYGT,@Davea Lux. My personal preference is to re-core. Inherent problems w/ the aluminum radiators is they can"t be serviced (re-corded). A short term fix. Aluminum radiators in long term service have problems w/ electrolysis which renders it a through away radiator.
